this song is the greatest joke in history!
think about it people. cast your minds.
1977, freddie mercury walking into the studio with a brand new song called "we are the champions". how can you not laugh at that?
obviously this song is not serious. freddie had some nerve to release a song like this. basicly he was saying that queen is the greatest band in the world and that nobody could top them. how funny is that?
what balls. what a genious idea. nobody will ever be able to reproduce a song such as this. no band will ever touch upon this topic because freddie did it first.it's one of the most orginal ideas ever.
for those of you diehard queen fans, please just let the idea sink in before you start ripping on me with how stupid i am. you know im right.

People read into "We are the Champions" that it's a "gay anthem". People read all kinds of things into all kinds of things...
I believe Queen themselves said that it took some tenacity to put out "We are the Champions", but I could be wrong - it's not like I listen to all the interviews and DVD commentary I've ever heard to refresh my memory every few months.
Also - I'm fairly certain this topic must have been touched upon before.
I've paid my dues -
Time after time -
I've done my sentence
But committed no crime -
And bad mistakes
I've made a few
I've had my share of sand kicked in my face -
But I've come through
[[[[Bad things happened to me - some of them unfairly, but I've made it anyway.]]]
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -
[[[We really are the champions, you know that ? And we don't have time for losers - maybe shitty people who take our money, maybe people who just aren't sure what they're plonking as music - but, anyway - we don't have time for them. We're very busy and there are things we have to do - important things, you know ?]]]
I've taken my bows
And my curtain calls -
You brought me fame and fortune and everything that goes with it
-
I thank you all -
But it's been no bed of roses
No pleasure cruise -
I consider it a challenge before the whole human race -
And I ain't gonna lose -
[[[Wow, now that I'm famous and rich, it's not all that I expected it to be. You know, some of it really sucks. But I'm not going to give up just because the bed of roses left me with a thorn in my ass - I'm going to keep trying, and fuck the world, I'm gonna make it.]]]
We are the champions - my friends
And we'll keep on fighting - till the end -
We are the champions -
We are the champions
No time for losers
'Cause we are the champions - of the world -
[[[Second verse, same as the first ! I'm King Henry the VIII I am - I am, I am, I am !]]]
Sheesh - it could simply be "we are champions - people who don't give up when someone tries to put us down".
Obviously, you can look at the song any way you want. The review at Barnes & Noble reads "gay anthem" into it.
It's your choice. If you see it, then it's there - or whatever the man said.
"Crazy Little Thing Called Love" is pure Freddie...
Well, pure Freddie with obvious influence from Elvis.
Yes - Freddie is singing very similar to Elvis. He also does this same sort of thing on "Man on the Prowl".

Increasingly, and I am not "ripping on you", I do believe that you need to get out more....

didn't he write it because of a Japanese poetry book that Peter Freestone gave him?
