Is true Freddie Mercury played synth in the medley in Japan ?
There are video or audio ?
Who play synth in the concert "Caracas and Sao Paulo" ?
thanks
In Sao Paulo and Caracas, it was Brian. There isn't any footage of the Japanese shows when they played the longer Flash medley, but I'll assume that was Brian too.
I recently shared one of the Japanese shows, and you can download it here: link
According to Queenconcerts.com, Flash medley during tour in Japan '81 was the only time Freddie played the synths live and it's easy to believe he did. You can hear guitar and synth playing at the same time (check Vultan's Theme) and despite Brian is a gifted guy, he couldn't make it with just two hands.
Thanks for info, only Vultan's theme Freddie played synth ? What is the concert 12,13,16,17 or 18 February ?
Thanks, There's foto ?
If i understand no video...
The synth it's the famous Oberheim OB-X ?

Ha ha..!
You're right... it's Freddie playing synths. I should have just listened to the recording before answering.. :P
Queen played Vultan's Theme on February 13, 16, 17 and 18. I guess this was the only song Freddie played synths. The first night (12th) they started the medley with Battle Theme, so it's without Freddie's synths there.
My short analysis of the medley:
1. Vultan's Theme - Freddie: Oberheim OBX, Brian: guitar
2. Battle Theme - no synths, Brian: guitar
3. Flash's Theme - Freddie: vocals, Brian:
1st part - piano & Oberheim OBX(it was above the piano so that he could play both of them at once), no guitar
2nd part - guitar, no synths
4. The Hero - no synths, Brian: guitar, Freddie: vocals
I really doubt there are some photos from Freddie playing exactly Vultan's Theme. The lenght of the song is about 1:30 and they played it only four times so the chance is very small that someone took a pic just at the moment of playing it. But who knows :)
Thank you so much and I like your analyse and i think it's the better.
And like you say "Who knows for the fotos"
I have the audio and that's good.
I hope exist a video live like Sao Paulo, Caracas and Buenos Aires.
