8 pages proclaiming the glory of His Majesty!
(If you don't want to read through this, what I'm basically asking for are books, magazines or videos of critical analysis of Queen, specifically Freddie and/or his Lyrics. Also, two of his songs that you especially feel relate to British culture and society. What the heck, I can probably handle this fairly easily; but if you know any good videos or books about his life, I wouldn't mind hearin' them.)
Post Resumes Here:
When I went to class, I got this assignment for a research paper on any British poet; that was the first thing I thought. While other people'll write their paper on Shakespeare, I think I'll write my paper on someone a little more colorful. (If you know what I mean) I'd write it on the entire band, but it has to be a person. Besides, it will be fairly easy to find information on just Freddie.
However, we're supposed to use a literary critical analysis of the poems. So if anyone has any ideas of books, magazines or videos of critical analysis of his songs or his lyrics/songs, I'd appreciate it. Or maybe if anyone's seen Queen: Under Review and has an opinion on it...
Also, we're supposed to analyze two poems(lyrics) that relate to British culture and society and as you can tell by the way I spelled 'analyze' I'm not British. So, if anybody from there(or not) has any ideas, I'm interested in them. Clearly, the first choice is Body Language!!! :) Just kidding...
What the heck, I can probably handle this fairly easily; but if you know any good videos or books about his life, I wouldn't mind hearin' them.
Thanks in advance!!!
Come to think of it you really should've picked Roger. He is a lot more political than Freddie. In addition to the aforementioned song you could look at songs like "Strange Frontier", "The Also Rans", "Dear Mr. Murdoch" and "Working Class Hero" (granted that the last one was written by John Lennon, but the choice is quite significant).
