I'm just glad it's on a Saturday, and Pieter won't be downtown at work if all hell breaks loose. Geez.. link |

I'd be more shocked, if there wasn't a neo-nazi group trying for form a registered student organization on my university campus. Not good...not good. But, as long as they get the proper permits, they can march. Welcome to freedom. However, they will probably be met by twice their number of anti-nazi protesters, so that's comforting. |

“A lot of them don’t speak English,” Schoep said. “They’re not trying to speak English. They’re coming to conquer our country...” With what? Flautas? Tortillas? A 95 mph fastball? |

I'll get you the Society Of Music Appreciation's entire population as anti-fascists. In order to kick Ferry's ass, music enthousiasts will do ANYTHING to save their ears. Oh, and Dylan-fans too, seeing what Ferry's latest rape is: an album of ear-injuring Dylan-faking. So we would be able to get rid of the two worst plagues since the Firstborns Of Egypt in a single go. Lovely! |

what my old home town of Kalamazoo experienced in '98 link If I recall correctly, the local newspaper wrote very little beforehand, and afterwards gave them a few paragraphs in the Metro section, below a picture of the anti K rally and related quotes. TV gave them about 15 seconds, with about 5 minutes donated to the anti K rally. Other than the sad amount of money needed for security, it all blew over with little fanfare. |

Actually, I think these neo-nazis are worse than the original ones: these scumbags can't claim that they did not know to the letter the results of the original barbaric hordes. |

These bozos were gonna do a march thru Cincinnati last week, to celebrate Hitlers birthday, right thru Over The Rhine, where the riots were a few years back. Thankfully, the Cinti Police found an old arrest warrant for their leader, and they caved. Personally, I would have liked to have seen if the drug dealers and thugs in OTR would have stood up to them. Perhaps they could have eliminiated two problems in one shot, pardon the pun. If the media would leave them alone, they'd get no publicity, there would be no story, no fire to fan, consequently, these assholes would go away. link |

Haystacks Calhounski wrote: If the media would leave them alone, they'd get no publicity, there would be no story, no fire to fan, consequently, these assholes would go away. But what about the public's right to know? I actually agree with you about not giving them publicity, but I don't think that will make these nuts go away. Maybe keeping a light on them will make them less likely to do something unexpectedly? I dunno. I'm still thinking about the VT situation and Cho video... but that's another thread... EDIT - I guess my hope is that by keeping them in the public's eye, there could be some intervention or prevention. Pipe dream, perhaps, but I can't help believing it. |

Publics right to know what, exactly? In this case, the media gives these asswipes exactly what they want. |
john bodega 20.04.2007 13:39 |
"these scumbags can't claim that they did not know to the letter the results of the original barbaric hordes" But they continue to try. I wish people would just gang up and LAUGH at these stooges when they do their little marches. It can be an incredibly deflating experience, having a group of people laugh at you. Violence only makes them feel validated. |

I, for one, would be surprised to see this here. I'm not for having it plastered on every TV screen hour after hour, and, as I said, I do agree it's giving them what they want... but it is news. However, I like Zebonka's idea the best. :) Zebonka12 wrote: I wish people would just gang up and LAUGH at these stooges when they do their little marches. The sad thing is, they know people are laughing at them, and they know that people despise them. It doesn't matter. They are convinced of their beliefs, and in their warped little minds they use it as fuel for the fire...adds to their determination. It's really sad, sick and psychotic...same stuff extremists of every stripe have (political, religious, etc.) That's why they are so dangerous...they don't see or listen to reason, and they use scorn as fuel. What the hell do you do with someone like that? You can argue to ignore them, but then they scream louder. |

"The sad thing is, they know people are laughing at them, and they know that people despise them." Indeed; I was merely commenting on the profound psychological effect of being outnumbered and guffawed at. Hell, I'm quite level headed and proud of myself, but it's happened to me before and it can really suck the wind out of ones sails! |

Indeed; I was merely commenting on the profound psychological effect of being outnumbered and guffawed at.You're comment to laugh at them provided me with a needed laugh, so I appreciated it. :) Of course it wouldn't work on these nuts - like with the VT shooter, being laughed at further internalized his hatred of others. And, yes, these people are dangerous. That's why I feel it's imperative they receive air time. People need to see this and understand these wackos still gather and spew their hatred. They're not just "over there". They can be anywhere. It's best to be informed, not blindsided. |

You know the people that live in Over the Rhine are not going to let them march through their "hood." The Nazi group wanted it to get violent and provoke the blacks. |
