I just won two tickets from a NY radio station to see Mick Hucknall and the band playing for a small audience (100 people) in a Manhattan club. You guys don't know how exciting this is. I've never won anything in my life, and I was very dissapointed that Simply Red wasn't touring the States to promote their the latest album 'Stay'. The funny thing is that me and my girlfriend were thinking of making the trip to Toronto just to see the band, but looks like we won't have to spend a single penny. I hope he gets to play a normal set list of songs, but considering that is a free show it might be shorter. |

Congrats, Jingles! I hope you'll have the time of your life. A very priviliged gig indeed. It's not my kind of music, but I can see what you like about it. Enjoy! EDIT: Oh, and what club would that be, btw? |

Congrats Mr Jingles hope you have a great time, personally I think they are terrible on the ears and I would rather sandpaper my eyelids off than go to see Mick the prick but well done it is nice to win a competition. |

I know Mick can be a twat. I mean, when someone wastes so much money having a ruby incrusted on his teeth, you realize that they're run out of ideas on what to spend their money on. I still enjoy the music though. |

It all went downhill from Stars, which was an amazing album but theyve never been the same since. |

joxerthehornypirate wrote: when is this gig by the way? hope you post details and maybe a pic or two..Wednesday the 25th. Mick and the band will be at LA on Monday for a signing at the Virgin Megastore, and on Tuesday making an appearance at The Craig Ferguson Show. Wednesday will be the NYC show, and they will be signing autographs next Friday at the Borders Store in Columbus Circle. I hope we're allowed to use cameras because I know at many gigs they have a "no cameras allowed" policy. However, they usually mention that and we were never told that we couldn't. |
Mr.Jingles 26.04.2007 07:27 |
Hey! I just wanted to let you guys know that I went to the gig and it was amazing. By the end I felt like I wanted them to play a lot more, but it was a free gig so I shouldn't be complaining. It was inside this small rehearsal studio, and about 100 people attended. So there was not much of an issue getting as close as you wanted. Mick and the band played mostly songs from the new album 'Stay', and the guy sounds better than ever. His voice is absolutely amazing. By the end of the show he said: -"I don't think it would be right from me to leave without playing some of the old stuff". Then he went to play 'Holding Back The Years' and everybody started singing along. Mick showed a lot of charisma off the stage when he answered questions from the crowd. Very down to earth man indeed. Here are some of the videos I took from last night. SO NOT OVER YOU link HOLDING BACK THE YEARS link |

Noooooooooo. xDApparently Mick has left behind his old days of drinking, excessive spending, and banging supermodels and actresses. Mick has settled down with his girlfriend and both are expecting a baby later this year. |
