Tomorrow's Poem in a Pocket Day and I'm screwed! I need a PG poem about Queen or rock 'n' roll or whatever. I need it quick!!! Could you guys PLEASE help me? |

Um... does it have to be "written by you" ? You could print off lyrics (or "God Save the Queen" - just to be cheeky) - or write one yourself, because we're probably not much better. :) |

It doesn't HAVE to be written by me, and I can't find anything online. The closest I found was a stupid corny poem by Shel Silverstein titled "rock 'n' Roll Band" which is about a bunch of 1o year olds trying to form a band. There are many smart people on this site, and I don't wanna copy lyrics of a song cuz then it'll sound kind aweird. But I'll try! However, in teh meantime, if anything cute comes to mind, please post it up! |

There once was a band called Queen Critics to them were mean Queen said "Stuff you all we're having a ball" Then they did some other real cool stuff... I don't know! We get taught how to study poems, not write them, for example, in the last line I used iambic pentameter hehehe. But as far as poem writing goes, I'm as usless as a sack of potatoes on a unicycle [EDIT] And what is Poem in a Pocket Day? |

My suggestion to you is to write something down how you feel about rock and roll, queen ect. I hope that helps. |

Deep is the sound out of the strings The voice travels on its golden wings The beat of the drums echoes in our heart And the softness of the bass not far apart ...(to be continued, my sister is calling me) |

Too late it is, The recording is done, My mind is spinning, I can't let it go. Morning comes, I'm behind my bass, Creating the melodies I hear in my head, The words obsessing in my mind, I must remember to write them down. Now it's midday and I'm still here, Five minutes of bass recorded, It is time for my guitar to be heard, I sit there wondering... When will I be freed? This dank, dark room is closing in on me, I can't take much more of this, I create the drum beat out of pure anger. Night falls and the power cuts out, I'm left sitting here behind my piano, Pounding the keys into my melody, Molding the sound to fit. Now It's Monday Morning, My band mates come into the studio, They find me asleep on the floor, My microphone is my teddy, The song is finally recorded, But I am dead. |

Here's the poem I found online (which I hate) Rock 'n' Roll Band If we were a rock 'n' roll band, We'd travel all over the land. We'd play and we'd sing and wear spangly things. If we were a rock 'n' roll band. If we were a rock 'n' roll band, And we were up there on the stand, The people would hear us and love us and cheer us. Hurray for that rock 'n' roll band. If we were a rock 'n' roll band, Then we'd have a million fans. We'd giggle and laugh and sign autographs, If we were a rock 'n' roll band. If we were a rock 'n' roll band, The people would all kiss our hands. We'd be millionaires and have extra long hair, If we were a rock 'n' roll band. But we ain't no rock 'n' roll band, We're just seven kids in the sand. With home made guitars and pails and jars And drums of potato chip cans. Just seven kids in the sand. Talkin' and waven' our hands. And dreamin' and thinkin' oh wouldn't it be grand, If we were a rock 'n' roll band. |

There was a young lad name of Brian Tried straight'ning his hair with an iron. The device was home-made From bottles of lem'nade By his Dad, an early advocate of recylcin' Too many apostrophes for my liking to make the rhythm better, and a weak rhyme at the end, but that's a decent attempt. |
