As requested, here is the DVD Shawy shared here earlier this year. I'll put the three torrents in three successive posts so they will be easily accessible. This may be overly ambitious, so please be patient if the speed is not the greatest. Help in seeding would be appreciated :) Here is the first part: |

Many thanks, Ginger. It may be overly ambitious, but I'm definitely willing to give it a try! :) |

It was a bit slow yesterday but now it's working at a pretty reasonable speed, and if my client is not telling tales there are some secret seeders helping out intermittently. Good luck! |

I don't usually moan here, but I'm a bit peeved to see that for 73 downloads of Part 1, 52 of Part 2 and 46 of Part 3 I have received precisely 3 thank yous. Although I don't expect 73 thank yous, I do think this is a bit low. 'Nuff said... |

Hello i know this question isn't related to this dvd, but still i don't know where to find the answer. Could somebody tell me the way to make a lossless dvd like this wembley dvd?? i have a 17gb avi file and i need to burn it to dvd but without loosing quality. i know it will take about 3 or 4 dvd-r, but i don't care, i'm just concerned about not loosing any quality at all. i'm sorry to ask this here!! but this dvd shared here i think it's the same case: lossless quality but on several disc. thank you! |
pittrek 28.03.2007 03:55 |
There is no such thing as a lossless DVD. A DVD is a disc, it can't be lossy or lossless. It simply exists. I think with your "DVD" you ment the logical format called DVD-Video, but this format can NOT be lossy or lossless. The video stream in a DVD is a MPEG-2 stream, which is ALWAYS incredibbly lossy (all algorhythms developed by the Moving Pictures Experts Group are terribly lossy). The audio streams can be of 4(+1) types - MPEG audio layer 2, Dolby Surround, Dolby Digital, Linear Pulse Code Modulation + Dolby Theatre Sound (aka Digital Theatre System). All these stream types are lossy, only LPCM is lossless, but it makes absolutely no sense to encode your audio stream as LPCM, unless your SOURCE audio is lossless. Can you NOW repeat what you actually wanted ? |
TheWrist 28.03.2007 09:44 |
oook. I need the AVI file to be converted to a DVD-VIDEO without losing quality. From what you said maybe this isn't possible. So maybe there's a way to encode the avi file to several dvd-videos like the concert shared here so it would have the best quality possible even if it's not lossless. I opened the file with gspot and this is what it said about the file: VIDEO DV Type 2 AVI Multipart OpenDML AVI (5 parts) (8466 frames in first part, 138058 frames follow) AUDIO PCM Audio 48000Hz 1536 kb/s tot (2 chnls) RESIZING None, already DVD format ook i guess that's all. Thanks for the help! |

Please, can you put here some more information ? Like - is it a concert or a movie ? - do you have chapter stops ? - do you want to use only freeware or also paid soft |
TheWrist 29.03.2007 15:35 |
- It's a concert - it's just a big 1hr 20mins AVI file. - I would prefer freeware, but i'll find the way to get a paid software if i have to use it. thanks! |

1) Open your AVI in VirtualDubMod. Using the play button and forward/reverse buttons find the places where the songs begin, it's a good idea to put on these places chapter starting points. When you find a good position for a chapter start, write somehere the frame number showed down. Save the textfile with these frame numbers as (e.g.) chapterlist.txt . 2) Download AviDemux. Demultiplex your AVI to 2 elementary streams, one containing only the video and one containing only the PCM audio. 3) Looks like your AVI doesn't need to resize or change framerate, so download a good mpeg encoder. CCE (Cinema Craft Encoder) is the best encoder in the "paid world", QuEnc and HCEncoder are the best from free encoders. Open your AVI (the one containing only the demultiplexed video, NOT THE ORIGINAL ) in the encoder, setup the encoder correctly (usually settings like PAL/NTSC, framerate, the bitrate - between 1MBps and 8MBps, I recomend using CBR - constant bitrate ...) Don't forget to setup the correct aspect ratio (4:3 / 16:9) and encode the file to MPEG 2 format. 4) Now you have a mpeg 2 file, your original WAV file and a text file with the chapters. The free way how to multiplex it into DVD-video format is to open it in IfoEdit's DVD author function. You just put there the links to the mpv and wav files, read the chapters from the text file, and compile. |
pittrek 30.03.2007 06:48 |
5) You have now one huge DVD-video which will probably NOT fit on one DVD5, so if you don't want to spend a dual-layer DVD you have two choises - a) shrink it to a DVD5, or b) split it into 2 DVDs. Both actions can be done in DVDShrink, case a) in its Full Disc Backup mode, case b) in DVDShrink's Reauthor mode. In Reauthor mode you can set the start and end points in frames or in chapters. Hope it's clear, have a nice time playing with it :) |
