Hi everybody,
I was just wondering why didn't Queen (with Freddie , of course)record any cover songs in studio (for example the songs from their Rock'n'Roll medleys) besides the "Larry Lurex" stuff.
Another issue: There's been only one studio collaboration with another artist (David Bowie). I think it would be thrilling to hear a song from Queen & let's say John Lennon. What do you think what's the reason Queen didn't work together with other artists?
They did do 'God Save The Queen' if I recall correctly.
Covers involve copyright payments, so why do them if you don't have to?
Check your history pertaining to John Lennon. How many artists did he collaborate with from 1975-80?
i think they were more into having "pet projects" outside the group
so in a (non-queen) way they worked with other artists...
some of which were...ian hunter, billy squier, fox, kansas, hillary, morris minor, heavy pettin', peter straker, michael jackson, bad news, eddie howell, montserrat cabale, smith & jones, cozy powell, five, beyonce, foo fighters, phil collins, yoshiki, anita dobson and anastacia
...and loads more
Always forget about adding 'The Wedding March'....
The comments about 'Fame': are they directed towards the original, or the horrible remix on Bowie's first greatest hits release? Always liked the original.
I didn't know about Lennon assisting with it. Thank you all for that info.
When I commented on Mr. Winston O'Boogie's possible collaborating with Queen from 75-80...I was thinking of the time from Sean's birth to John's assasination.....he was a homebody and did little if anything unless people came to him. Queen were 'nobodies' before '75.....why would he want to do anything with them?
Nice idea, but..............
