It´s been fouor years since the Greatest video hits 2 DVD came out.... and still not DVD versions of the music videos like I´m going slightly mad and Headlong. When are they gonna release the third DVD???. I don´t want to see these bullshit a night at the opera DVD things or anything like that..... Maybe special remixed Innuendo DVD???? please comment this and let´s make things happen. Because i want that the third video hits DVD to come out in the stores as soon as possible.... |

I'd rather have an early concert than a re-release of videos easily found on YouTube that we've all seen a thousand times. I like the commentary tracks though. The commentary on the "Body Language" video was worth the price of the DVD alone. :) |

And can you imagine "Mother Love"... mindblowing! V. |

Videos in youtube are all so bad quality. It´s not joy to see those. And maybe some footage of making made in heaven and innuendo albums????. That would be a masterpiece DVD. An could end the DVD series so perfectly. It´s just my opinion.... but i´m quite sure i´m not alone with my thinking. |
PieterMC 19.03.2007 15:16 |
I would not get too excited about hearing the tracks in 5.1 For one thing the center channel is not used. |
Mrs.Deacon 19.03.2007 16:54 |
but at least the picture would be as perfect as it can be. The greatest video hits series must have had it´s end. without it the early releases lost their meaning. |

a greatest videohits III would make the series "complete". So it would be nice if an official dvd would be released. Just a short while ago a friend gave me a Greatest Video hits III dvd, compiled by someone. I do have all the material on official releases of taped from television, but it's a nice collection on one dvd. But yes, an official one would be appreciated. |
Deacon Fan 19.03.2007 18:03 |
Yeah the picture quality sucks for the most part, as well as most videos being cropped to the wrong ratio. And the audio is mostly 4.1, but maybe enough time has passed that volume 3 would be an improvement. Meanwhile, there are other ways to get decent quality versions of the remaining videos. VHS, laserdisc and pirate DVDs of Flix II, Flix III, Rocks. A few are on the official 'Jewels' DVD from Japan too. I do hope there's something released on DVD this year and not just the new Queen + PR album, but I doubt it would be this. |

What about the infamous 'track 13' off MIH in 5.1? What a trip that would be!!! And from Innuendo, certainly the title track is intriguing but even more so may be All God's People cranked so high my windows shatter!!! |

They should release it with the Innuendo EPK among the extras. At least we have that on YouTube |

Flix 2 (and Flix 1) are actually easily available as Brazilian DVDs, even from major retailers.. they are even called 'Official' by many people. Here's my little page with details about Flix 2: link Has menu and screen caps. And here it is for sale: link I've seen it other places online but of course can't find it now. |

Haven't posted in this forum much but just wanna say: I got a good 5.1 system for christmas and all the remixed surround songs sound AMAZING!!! The message..."I wouldn't bother - there's no centre channel" (or whatever the quote was!) is SOOO silly!!! Cos the stereo rears on their own are worth the price alone! Especially the guitars behind you in The Invisible Man. Also having a phantom centre is fine. Roll on ADATR coming out in 5.1!!! |

PieterMC wrote: I would not get too excited about hearing the tracks in 5.1 For one thing the center channel is not used.Anyone who says that, doesn't think about the big picture. Center channel be damned. In my recent mixings of surround sound dvd's for my theatre, the center channel is sometimes fine for songs. But to give the boost the vocals needed, it had to be spread into the front stereo to gain any depth. So, really, it's not that great a feature to place vocals in the center after-all. I'm hearing more and more releases use the other 4 channels to spread the vocal out. So, in all honesty, the center is really a film dialogue thing. Not an important music dvd thing at all. Adam. |
PieterMC 20.03.2007 22:43 |
It's a personal thing. I personally think that the surround mixes on those DVD's sound like crap. I'm happy for you that you like them, but they do nothing for me. The ANATO and The Game DVD Audio mixes are amazing but the video hits DVDs don't even come close. |
Mrs.Deacon 21.03.2007 11:45 |
But as i was pointing out that it would be a great offer to have Greatest video hits 3 as soon as possible, because truly it has been four years since the last video hits DVD. And also there are behind the scenes things on innuendo and I´m going slightly mad, and also These are the days of our lives, because i have heard of that so many times on the internet, from so many peoples. But a new DVD would be a masterpiece. So Bring it out as fast as you can. WE NEED IT!!!! |

I think I have said it many times before. I imagine that a "Greatest Video Hits III" would come out AFTER some new short promotinoal films (music videos) are done for the new Queen studio l.p. with Paul Rodgers. So...maybe a year from now I would guess. Though I don't know that it should get released in everything will be put on Blu-Ray discs. The original three greatest hits could just have the original "Greatest Flix" on them at that point. With the bonus features from the "Greatest Video Hits" d.v.d.s of course. |

yeah i haven't listened to the dts mixes of ANATO,GVH1/2, etc for a while but my question has already been answered.... is the center speaker used? i thought my cnnections was buggered. the anato dvd mix is really good. i especially love the high harmonies that roger provides are so clear thanks to the rear speakers...and alo bohemian rhapsody after the operatic bit, you can hear the guitar part but you can also hear the piano part which i really love. all in all, the fact that these songs are like 20-30 years old, the dts mixes aren't that bad. i like them. also, does anybody think the concerts sound any different in 4.1 than they do in Pro Logic II? can you imagine innuendo in 4.1? like the wind bit at the start cming through the left and slowly makes it's way to the right and then the drum roll kicks in both speakers while the freddie count of 1,2,3,4 coming out of the rear speakers? and the main body of the song would sound so cool. really want that song in 5.1!! has anybody hear or downloaded the queen II torrent that has been fan mixed into 5.1? does anybody know how to get the thing playing? |

GH3 on tape was largely pointless... it skipped most of the Innuendo stuff, which was also skipped when the GVH2 DVD came out. Basically I felt like a dick buying this VHS when there was no possible way for me to get the videos I was after. Whoever said Greatest Hits 3 won't be a DVD till there's some more Q+PR stuff to throw on there...... you're absolutely right :/ Just watch. I'll probably have to sit through Elton John's mauling of Show Must Go On, too..... |

What would be the point of including any QPR videos, if there are any, on GVH3.It's the same as having the solo videos included on Greatest Flix 3, it did not work for me anyways. Since when was Wyclef Jean a member of Queen. They would be far better off releasing a stand alone version of all their promo videos and releasing it in time for xmas, for anyone who would want to buy it. I know it would make the current DVD's redundant but at lease it would gather up all the ones which are left. And while they are at that, they could also consider releasing a Live Box Set...... |
