Saif 18.03.2007 01:45 |
Bangladesh also beat India too...that was less of a shocker but damn...they have one more match to spare...Tendulkar was out by 8... Well I guess they played well so they deserve it. |
iGSM 18.03.2007 04:09 |

its just been announced that Pakistan coach and former England player Bob Woolmer has died aged 58. I met him many years ago when i was a lad and watched him play for Kent.he was very polite and gave me his autograph. he will be sadly missed by everyone who follows the game of cricket. RIP Bob woolmer |

iGSM 18.03.2007 21:01 |
Hyperbole. Yep, I know that very well. I once hit a cricket ball one million kilometres! That being said it's rather sad for the Pakistan team to lose against the Irish then their coach. Reminds me of when David Hookes died. |

iGSM wrote: its Australia.we'll lose to the kiwis to make them feel good.It sure worked! But back to Pakastain and Ireland, I saw on the news this morning Pakastani's protesting in the streets burning pictures of their cricket team. I can understand if they are gutted for loosing but sheesh, that's over stepping the mark a bit. I feel sorry when the poor team has to arrive home! That coupled with the death of their coach is not good at all... |
Mr. Scully 19.03.2007 07:35 |
Cricket??? :-) When you talk about "the biggest shock", I expected to read about a sport which is popular in more than three countries in the world... What sport comes next - yoyo, poi, fire twirling or scooter races? |
Lester Burnham 19.03.2007 10:48 |
I happen to be the Scooter Race Champion Of The World, dear sir, and there is NOTHING ridiculous about it! |

the suggestion now in the media is that match fixing was involved.not necassarily by himself i must add.it appears that he was about to blow the whistle on someone |

Miami Vice wrote: Hey Jox! I did not know that cricket involved so much intrigue. Do they think the Pakistani underworld fixed the match?it is a possabilty, all the pakistan team have had their DNA taken for analysis.there has been corruption in the sport before with Hanse Cronje of south africa the most notorious and he died in suspicous circumstances in a plane crash where he was the only passenger. on another note,i did expect some sort of repercussion when i started this topic but nothing so extreme. it also reminds me of when Escobar was killed by the underworld after he scored an own goal which KO Columbia out of the football world cup in '94 against the USA |

Valensian Sky Surveillance wrote: how comes KOREA beats Italy??? Italy had scored 4 goals, but had 3 of em denied... so KOREA wonDon't change the subject. We're talking about the 2006 World Cup. Clearly you know that Italy didn't play well in '06, because if they did, you would be praising positive things they did, instead of complaining about something that happened in another tournament, as if that would somehow justify Italy "deserving" the World Cup. iGSM wrote: That dive against Australia...gulp...That's what I'm talking about. And it was pure luck that they didn't have to play Brazil in the final 8. They were blessed with the Ukraine... it was either them or Switzerland. Compare it to the other matches: Germany vs Argentina, England vs Portugal, and Brazil vs France. Italy was damn lucky. They did play pretty well against Germany... however, they were playing so dirty by the second half to the point that the referee refused to acknowledge any Italian player on the ground. The main reason why Italy won this game is because Germany simply didn't play well. Their offence was out to lunch, and Italy capitalized. Then in the final, France completely dominated that game until Zidane was sent off after the famous head-butt incident, because one of the Italian players said he'd "have his sister". Not only do they play dirty, but they talk dirty too. Italy gained momentum only because of that, and ended up winning on penalties. What skill. It will take a whole lot of convincing for me to ever respect Italian football on the international ground. This last World Cup validated everything I had thought about them. It was the only time in my life when I actually felt upset while watching a team (in any sport) hoist the trophy. |
