Hello Everyone,
The DVD Announce's on Mediafire.com are a hugh succes !!
The 60 GB of uploaded files by me has generated a total download of about 2,55 TB. All the files are downloaded for about 28.000 times.
It seems that Mediafire.com can handle this kind of uploads and is very stable with serving the files.
In some of the topics people can't extract the files because there is a corrupt RAR-file in it. Sometimes it's hard to find wich RAR file responsible is for this kind of failures. To help people I go add some "repair blocks" for repairing the damaged files.
How it works: just simple.
You have to install one little freeware program on your computer called Quickpar.
You can download this program (available in several languages) here: link
Quickpar can repair damaged files with "repair-files". Quickpar can even create "missing files" (when you haven't downloaded part 25 from the RAR files for example). I post standard 15% repair-files. If 15% of the files is damaged, quickpar can repair all the RAR files with using the repair files.
After you have installed this program, you can download the "check-file" of the concert. The check file is named: "Concertname".par2 and will be seperated posted under all the RAR-links.
This typical check file is just a little file of about 50 or 60 KB and must be placed in the same folder as all the RAR files.
Double click on the check-file and the Quickpar program checks now all the RAR files and when finished, it gives (if okay) a signal that repairing of the RAR files is not needed. After this message, you can just unrar the RAR files, like before, with Winrar.
If it gives a failure message that repairing of the RAR files is needed, you can do 2 things:
1) (recommend) download the needed blocks to repair the RAR files. the failure message gives information how much repairing blocks are needed.
for example: if it needs 5 blocks, you have to download that much repairing files that you have in total at least 5 blocks.
You can calculate the amount of blocks by yourself. In front of every repairing file, I give information how much "repaing-blocks" the repairing file contains. After downloading these repairing files to the same folder as the RAR files, double click again on the "Concertname.par2"-file and the Quickpar program is repairing the RAR-archive. When ready you can extract the RAR-archive as usual with Winrar.
2) Method 2: the Quickpar program gives information which files are (partially)corrupt.
Delete those files and download them again. When the problem is not solved, try method 1).
In short the download-process:
1) Download the RAR files
2) Download the check file
3) Run the check file by double clicking on it
4a) if okay: unrar the RAR files with winrar.
4b) if not okay: repair the RAR files with the repairblocks or re-download the corrupted files. After finishing the repair-session: unrar the RAR files.
Check the first post in each "Mediafire.com DVD Announce"-topic for the needed check & repair files. I'm still busy with uploading these check and repairing files, In time, I have created it for all the recent topics.
Greetings

Thanks for this great explanation. We never know if we´re gonna need it!
Until now i haven´t had any problem with the files but this is great to know for future releases.
Take care

I really don't know if this will be needed much (in the future).
In "newsgroups-communties" it's absolutely needed to repair big archive's before you can un-rar them.
I hope everything is clear. if not, please let me know
