Short: 1.- Should Freddie ('s voice) be present in any Queen new song on the upcoming album? 2.- Should some unfinished song (demos) be completed by PR on voice, and share then the main vocals? |
PabloArg 13.03.2007 20:45 |
1.- Yes 2.- Yes |

It's perfect for the board to reach such degree of agreement. |

I think I stated once before that there should be some reference to Freddie, but I've changed my mind. That's all been done already. I think it would be much better if the album is 100% original. And I predict it will be. Now, if some singles come out, I don't have any problem with them using something like that as b-sides, but I still doubt it will happen. I'd like to see some later Queen+ stuff as b-sides, such as the studio versions of 46664 tracks.. but that's probably just a dream too. Chances are they'll just use some unreleased Queen + PR live tour tracks as additional songs on any singles. Just to clarify why I don't think Freddie should be included: We had the tour with input and tributes to Freddie, and 2006 was the year of Freddie as far as the 60th b-day releases.. so, enough already :) |
masterstroke_84 13.03.2007 21:39 |
NO. Is time to look ahead and live the TODAY... tribute was fine... made in heaven was fine... but is time for them, and for the fans too... for making a new start in some ways... and not only live the past... roger and bri have a lot to show... and we have to support them and stop putting Freddie everywere... My opinion.. P. |
DavidRFuller 13.03.2007 21:42 |
I wish the whole album would be unfinished demos. |
masterstroke_84 13.03.2007 21:49 |
I dont know why fans are against Brian & Roger like this... i cant believe it... i cant understand... i cant. Every day im more convinced that for the majority Queen was Freddie+ 3 sessionists. . |
FriedChicken 13.03.2007 22:22 |
1. No 2. No Freddie is dead, move on. A duet with Freddie and Paul would be interesting. But we already have 3 singers (I think Roger and Brian also will sing a few songs) and 4 singers would be way too much |
akindofmagic 14.03.2007 00:52 |
NO & NO THere will be a new "Made in Heaven" type of album when the box sets come out. A Compilation of the best demos reworked by Bri, Roger and (hopefuly) John. For this (Queen+PR) project they should, and will, use just new stuff!! |
bgordon88 14.03.2007 05:21 |
...I think although Brian and Roger very much respected Freddie they seem to have a need to prove that they can cut it without him. |
August R. 14.03.2007 06:07 |
NO! Let Freddie's spirit rest in peace. This is a new band, as Brian has stated on many occasions. I find it strange that people can't accept Bri & Rog using the name Queen, but still, are supportive to the idea of them re-working some old demos. I mean, there was a reason for those demos not be finished and released. I don't think Freddie would have wanted the guys to use some of his guide vocals and put them on an album as a "new Queen track". He was such a perfectionist when it came to his work. Some demos will probably get released in box-set (in 2036), but that's a separate project. So, no Freddie on a QPR album. |
gnomo 14.03.2007 08:18 |
... can't see a single reason, honestly... |
All I Hear Is Radio Gaga 14.03.2007 09:12 |
I think it would be interesting for a few tracks, but again you have to keep in mind that they are taking the music in a new direction. But I'm open to anything.... Cheers Heather |
k-m 14.03.2007 09:38 |
No & no. They shouldn't mix old stuff with new stuff. Queen and QPR are two different bands. |

teleman 14.03.2007 10:53 |
QPR and Freddie's Queen material should be kept separate. |
Boy Thomas Raker 14.03.2007 11:29 |
If it's a new album, how can anything 16 years old be relevant? Let them move on, otherwise it becomes creepy. |
john bodega 14.03.2007 11:32 |
I want to hear more Freddie. Not on this album though. Just look at it logically... unless they just happen to have a remaining Freddie song or two that is totally appropriate to the theme/feel of what they're doing, it'd just be pointless. It'd be like Freddie riding in on his bicycle, waving, and riding off again. Frivolous. But by all means, would love to hear ANYTHING that is unreleased so far. |
jpf 14.03.2007 13:38 |
No and no. This new studio cd is not a Queen cd, it's a Queen + Paul Rodgers cd. Any demos or unreleased material with Freddie on it, if decent, should be included in a box set, not on a Q+PR cd. |
lmj 14.03.2007 17:22 |

Champipple 14.03.2007 21:05 |
No way. I thought even Made in Heaven was kinda tacky in spots (re-jigging FM solo stuff). I'm all for releasing demos though, but don't ruin it by mixing new and old. |
KingMercury 14.03.2007 21:15 |
first of all, i want all of you to know that i love freddie so much he's my greatest inspiration and, imho, the greatest voice in rock and roll history there wont be no one like him but, this is new stuff and its a Q+PR album it's a new era and, despite Paul is a great singer, he will never be like freddie beside that, let Freddie rest in peace lets thank him for all the music he gave us, and let Paul show us if he could rise the ocassion and, for all of us lets enjoy the new record without comparing its a new record a new era please enjoy!!!! |
Lester Burnham 14.03.2007 21:43 |
Freddie can't participate in the new album. He's dead. |
Dan C. 15.03.2007 01:51 |
WHAT!? I won't believe it... :'( |
Micrówave 15.03.2007 14:00 |
Why would they put a clip of Freddie on the new album? Are they going to record the album using John's Bass and his Magic Tour shorts? Who will play The Gorilla in the new video? Are they going to spill the beans and admit they really recorded this on Cubase and an old Apple Macintosh Plus? |
rocks. 15.03.2007 20:50 |
I think they shouldnt all together forget about Freddie and John for that matter, but I want a whole new original album, NEW!!! Cant freaken wait!! Maybe just a dedication or something to freddie :D :P Ok, maybe not a dedication, but, something..doesnt have to be big or in your face or anything, just there. |

2 albums. 1 Q+PR 1 w/freddie stuff, brian and roger. |
thunderbolt 31742 04.06.2007 02:20 |
No. We already had that. It was called "Made in Heaven" and "Bohemian Rhapsody" (as played on the Q+PR tour). Brian and Roger have already said that this album will be what they're about now, which is why they aren't touring again until it's out. Reworking any more old Freddie demos/solo songs wouldn't do a thing to further that image--in fact, it would probably do more to hurt the long-term prospects of Q+PR (if there are such things for a group of 60-year-old rockers) than it would to boost album sales. At the very most, maybe a Q+PR re-take of a classic Queen song or two, but I'd honestly rather just see an album full of original material from the new band. If they only release twelve or so tracks on the disc and six of them are just reworked Freddie demos, what does it say about Q+PR? |
gnomo 04.06.2007 04:38 |
I totally agree with Thunderbolt, FWIW |
goinback 04.06.2007 05:59 |
You know what, I think I'm ready for a new Queen album without any trace of Freddie. They used him on the last album and paid homage to him a million times now. I'm not sure how well they can pull it off (since I think all four of them are necessary to determine the line between stylish and silly, which Brian and Roger couldn't do with the WWRY commercial, American Idol, etc.) but I'm interested to see what they can do and see some new songs live. The last tour was very good so they did know what they were doing in that case. |
