If Paul Rodgers was Freddie's "hero", and one of the best singers of all time, then why he wasnt on FM Tribute GIG??? |
Sweetie 24.02.2007 01:21 |
Because Paul smelt like pea soup then, and it took until '05 for Brian and Roger to clean him up |

I think Freddie's biggest influence was Mercury himself. Then he should've been there too... |

The Beatles also weren't there |

If Paul Rodgers was Freddie's "hero", and one of the best singers of all time, then why he wasnt on FM Tribute GIG??? ....BECAUSE... Roger and Brian extremely exaggerated the truth about Paul Rodgers being a hero of Freddie's. Even Paul Rodgers himself admitted that many years ago, they bumped into each other at a Management office, and Freddie barely acknowledged Paul. In all interviews with Freddie and Peter Freestone and his other friends, there was NO mention of Paul Rodgers!! Jimi Hendrix-YES...Montserrat Caballe-Yes... Paul Rodgers...NO!! I love Roger and Brian, but they are WRONG!!! I don't believe them for a second! |

Yeah. It is all bla-bla-bla. Hero? I think Freddie even didn't mention him anywhere... |

Long story short: Paul had an exam that day in Mr Hand's US History class. Mr Hand wouldn't let him make up the exam, and Paul would have failed the class, and would have had to repeat the 11th grade. As an aside, this was the same day that Jeff Spiccoli had Mr Pizza Guy deliver a pizza in class. It was awesome. Totally awesome. |

You guys are all wrong. Paul Rodgers was actually Freddie's favourite SUPERhero. He used to always dress up as him. Watch the video to "I Want To Break Free" if you don't believe me. Yep, that's (Freddie as) Paul Rodgers. |

I also don't think Freddie had AIDS! He never talked about it in interviews or sang about it in songs. All I heard about him having AIDS was through a press release made by Jim Hutton and the band talking about him having AIDS. I think it was just a promotional stunt. If Freddie really had AIDS, he would've talked about it, right? Seriously, grow up people! If Brian and Roger said that Paul was a hero of Freddie then he was a hero of Freddie. Freddie didn't talk about everything in interviews. And maybe he did say that Paul Rodgers was a hero of him. A lot of interviews didn't end up on the internet. |
Sebastian 26.02.2007 09:57 |
"A hero", maybe, although Rog and Bri could be lying too (although I haven't got any way toprove that). "The hero" or "his favourite singer", definitely not. |

Miami Vice wrote: I have seen Roger and Brian say in interviews that Paul was one of Freddies favorite singers. Iam not aware of them ever using the word "hero" in regard to Freddies feelings about Paul though.Last month on CBC's "The Hour", Brian May said: “Why would we want to replace Freddie? Why would we want to do this?” The amazing thing happened was that we met Paul Rodgers. I just happened to be on a show concurrently with him and we did ‘Alright Now’ together, and there was such an immediate chemistry there. To cut a long story short, I rang Roger and said “Look, we never thought of this. How about with Paul Rodgers?” Paul Rodgers is not like Freddie. He actually was a hero of Freddie’s, which is great, but he’s so different in style – the whole oeuvre, the whole Queen ensemble takes a different life now. He’s a great collaborator." Again, they've never said Paul "was Freddie's hero", they've always said that he was "a hero", which is a huge difference. I'd be pleased for all of the doubters to furnish me with a quote where Freddie said that Monserrat Caballe was his favourite singer PRIOR to the Spanish TV interview. I've often wondered if Queen, as music fans, ever heard popular new stuff on the radio (with Freddie and John as big Michael Jackson fans, and EVH doing guitar I could see them giving a go to 'Beat It') and jammed along in the studio when rehearsing. I've never heard that they did that, but me not hearing that doesn't mean there aren't instances where the band did that for fun. |
