What do you think it might sound like? We know you can run a tape backwards and upside down but sideways? I think there's an untapped dimension in audio there.
Of course, since a tape runs length-wise, we'd have to cut it up and stitch it together for the sideways thing, but oh my, wouldn't it be interesting?

We could do that digitally too. You take a wave-form, have the computer generate the same point-of-reference at a 90 degree angle, and have it cut off at a certain frequency, pasting it in segments. Could be done, I'm quite sure.
