ok...i've been here before i know...but i'm doing it again...some of the obvious (for me) stuff...that clearly "inspired" queen
1. rubber soul / jazz
the classic - fill it up with 3-minute pop hits type formula - every song a winner - nothing to long to lose the listener's attention, and most of the songs are fairly instant, if occasionally having a short shelf-life
2. a day in the life / bo rhap
listen to the song structure....i think this is Freddie's inspiration for Bo Rhap...definitely. the timings, the track length, the elements of the song, the changes of tempo
3. her majesty / gstq
both bands take their (arguably) biggest album and end it with a "short sharp version of their own national anthem" - brilliant
4. come together / get down make love
this is so obvious as to be a little more than just inpsiration (imo)...
5. abbey rd medley /side black
freddie saw that macca made the idea work well and added some bells and whistles
6. drummer gets a lead vox
the beatles usually gave ringo one vocal lead per album...queen coincidentally, did the same
7. sdrawkcab tracks
"Rain" started it in '66...queen did it in '74
any more observations?

And were both bi-sexual.
That's not all sure you know. It's true that Brian Epstein was in love with John, but that's not so clear to know if he and John had something at the end
Brian Epstein was indeed homosexual, unless I am mistaken (that would partially explain his thing for Lennon, obviously).
I should go on Mastermind and pick my specialist subject to be the bleeding obvious.
Brenski, interesting thoughts. But for me just only one parallel - I'm sure Freddie grew up much as a composer with Lennon's multi-part's songs. For me just that's it and nothing else.
Well..... thats one way of interpreting 'try everything once in your life'. Ha-ha.

Or is he?
Didn't he die in 1966 and was replaced by William "Billy Shears" Campbell? :P

Both bands pretended that one of their members was dead when he really wasn't (we all know Freddie is off on an island with Elvis waiting to make his big comeback).
