I am busy. Very and exceptionally busy - not really even enough time to write the stuff you see below. Oh yes, make no mistake about it, GB is inhumanly busy. So many people on QZ have said, with the usual degree of respect and courtesy, things like, "why doesn't Greg get off his fat arse and do some work on the Queen tapes, or other useful loveliness, instead of ranting on and on here and severely winding certain people up, easy though that is?" So I thought I'd tell you that I am, have been, continue to be, busy. And, by the way, my arse is becomming much less fat these days. I'm losing weight faster than Crezchi loses friends. Now.... the work thing... We have covered MUCH ground in recent weeks, and it's all looking rather fascinating and exciting for future things. You might not believe that, but that's alright, it's a free country and only you guys read these threads anyway. I am doing what I like doing most; getting to things I've wanted to get to for 4-5 years but which I always got sidetracked from, but, I'm deeply afraid, this means not much time to come on QZ and piss people off with the tiniest amount of effort and startlingly few words. I am missing that, and, absurd though it seems, I am curiously missing heated debate with people who love to loathe me and whom will never concede the times when I have a valid point and when they in fact agree with me. QZ is unlike any other fansite I know of in this regard... !!!!!! God bless it. Each to his/her own. Hello Barb, hope you are well and cheerful and still wishing lots of people a happy birthday... mine is in mid-July. I'm sure you are. Imagine where the hell YOU would all be right now, if there were no QZ. Blimey! That's food for thought. What would YOU have otherwise been doing if NOT writing and contributing, or just perusing (that means 'looking' or 'browsing' Zebonka) here. Think of all those hundreds and hundreds of hours you would have occupied with other things in your life, home, family, friends. Imagine what your millions of keyboard taps would have created in that alternative scenario. I'm only saying... no need to get all defensive. Anyway... I sense I am getting backs up again, and up peoples' noses... yes it IS that simple - so I shall nip off now and watch the pile of betamax videos I found recently. Remember them??? I finally found the right machine to play them on, so I can get on with it. So... I am busy. OK. I am. Right in the thick of Queen work for the good of all, that's me. Am I a hero or what! No need to be nasty sods for the next few days now... but you'll find a way I'm sure. Have a spiffing evening - or 'day' if your world is currently within sunlight hours. Crezchi, you are still a knobend and fool, and weird, and a first rate zombie!!! Sorry everyone, but he definitely is. I felt the need to say that again. I can't help myself. I'm off now. Love to anyone who has a nice dog and whom looks after it well. And shame on you, you scumbag despicable moron, if you mistreat your dog and don't treat it properly. ******************** PS. Do you know which 70's cartoon character used to say "Heavens to murgatroid!" And is it on DVD or VHS anywhere? |

No chum, it wasn't that I'm thinking off. This was some kind of phantom thing, that lived in a clock ( I think) and whom haunted people. It used to be on on Sunday morning, or midday, before or after Cat Weasel. Come on... someone must know. |

Hey, Bubbles here. Congrats on the betamax stuff. I'm re-exploring an old format myself. My shiny new (but used) laserdisc player arrived today! It's been 10 years since I had one, and I only have one disc at the moment, but I'm anxiously awaiting the arrival of a SEALED Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert LD, which I had many years ago as well and loved. I've also found a sealed Live In Rio disc which I'm contemplating (no, not Ebay so screw you bastards who would want to snatch it up before me! ha!) Cheers |

Well, it's nice to know you're doing well Greg. Do you want a TV Dinner? I'm defrosting some now. |

link "Snagglepuss's voice was also borrowed for the character of The Funky Phantom (1971)." Perhaps that is the clock-living phantom in question? |

"perusing (that means 'looking' or 'browsing' Zebonka)" I am near-to-last in the list of people who need Greg "I Am Not A Lazy" Brooks to teach me English. :) |

D'ye know, we'll always have the last laugh where this fellow is concerned, because when all is said and done - we pay his wages. Now either he starts earning 'em for once (and let's be honest his output in recent years ain't much above zero), or I start to make movements to have him removed from this 'position of privilege' he seems to think makes him all high and mighty. |

So your ass is still fat? |

The one thing I never quite learned to do is to write long-winded posts/essays etc. That's the reason why I gave up a promising career as a novelist. Mr. Brooks here could've said "I'm so busy working on rare Queen material that I can't be bothered to argue with you people." But no. He had to write nonsense of 400+ words, basically eating up 5-10 minutes of my time, which has lately become scarce. V. |

Zebonka12, silly boy... "perusing (that means 'looking' or 'browsing' Zebonka)" I am near-to-last in the list of people who need Greg "I Am Not A Lazy" Brooks to teach me English. :) You are NEAR-TO-TOP of the list of people it's easy to get a reaction out of!!!! You're a push-over pal. Too easy. I offer up the bait and you take it up like a fish, like the predictable person you are. You can't help yourself. Every single time without fail. Mug. |

Joxerthemighty... Is Catweasel / Weezle (???) on video or DVD, do you know? If so, Barb YV, will you buy it for me as an apology for being not very nice to me last year?? |

Available in series 1 and 2, or together as a set: link BTW, I thought this sounded familiar... though I've never seen it, I saw a documentary about Marc Bolan recently, specifically about the making of 'Born to Boogie' in which the star, Geoffrey Bayldon appears. He's interviewed and the documentary talks about how Marc and others involved were big fans of Catweazle and asked him if he'd be in the film. I can't find the name of the documentary at the moment... PS- I bought the Rio laserdisc. Is $60 too much for a sealed Japanese version? Oh well. |
JoxerTheDeityPirate 02.02.2007 09:19 |
seems i was wrong re being the only one to remember catweazle, yah! i also remember him being a wrestler as well bringing a frog to the ring and placing it on the turnbuckle before his matches. didnt realise nicholas lyndhurst was in catweazle as well. |

Luftblasen the bunny, superstar! Well done indeed. SUPERB job on finding these DVDs. Thank you. I'm very chuffed... that probably doesn't translate well. Your next mission... Has Lovejoy ever been shown in a non-English country, dubbed obviously??? I'd like to see that. same goes for THE PROFESSIONALS. Anyone got that with Bodie & Doyle dubbed in Mexican or Polish or Hindu?? How great would that be. Now THAT is a mission!!!!!! Re your laserdisc. NO, it's not too much if you enjoy it. I love laserdiscs too. I buy them but have no intention of playing them. In the I Want It All book we're working on, there is a very nice Laserdisc section. |
