Over the years according to photos and film footage, Roger increasingly disappeared behind his stage apparatus. What WAS all of that? As a person who knows nothing about musical instruments, why so many cymbals? They all look the same to me. Do they come in different keys/tones? And how many drums were up there? I would imagine they all have their own resonance. I don't know my music groups, but did Roger have more than most? His favorite brands?

Hello. I play drums.
As somebody wrote, each part of the kit produce a different sound.
In Roger's kit, he used to have like 5 o 6 toms, in 12", 13", 14" 16" and 18" sizes, plus a bass drum (24"), a snare (14"), a couple electronic pads (in the 80's) and rototoms.
Speaking of cymbals, his basic kit had the HiHats, a few crashes, a ride, a pair of huge chinas and some bells.

have you seen the drummers kit from Rush?! I can't remember his name as I'm not a fan but I saw a picture once. I swear he has to be airlifted into that thing
