Yes, this is pretty obviously a ripoff of the Longest Amount of Time Without Sleep thread, but I don't see why it matters, so here it is:
How long have you ever gone without food?
I personally went 36 hours after Hurricane Katrina when I decided to see how long I could go without food out of consideration for the not-so-fortunate victims, and lemme tell ya, it's tough. It makes you wonder how tough these Katrina victims were.
I did the 40 hour famine last year. Thats when you go without something (most commonly food) for 40 hours, get people to sponsor you and then you send that money World Vision. Our school raised over $10 000 for them so that was good :)
6 days - I was in hospital recovering from a burst appendix.
My brother had something similar but caught a bug called MRSA and couldn't eat for 5 weeks.
I'm still eating now
(but seriously, when I had tonsillitis and pulled my vocal chords I didn't eat for about three weeks, and then again when I had glandular fever I didn't eat for a further few weeks...and that was around the time of my 13th birthday, I found it a PERFECT way to come into teenage-hood)
One day. That's it.
And that was only because I was sick for a few days and that particular day it was pretty bad so my body decided to barf up anything that I ate or drank including icecubes/water. 8-)
I weigh 13 stone exactly....that should explain everything.
Skinny blokes envy my lovehandles.

Back in 1984 while I was in boot camp for the Navy I got real sick and almost died, I ran a temp of 106 for almost 30 days straight, I was given fluids in the form of IVs but I was pissin out more than I was taking in, I went from 140 pounds down to 85 in just less than a month and then just as suddenly as it hit.. it left.. Doctors never knew what it was.. I fried more brain cells in that short time than drugs can do in a year, I would have to say that it is part of the reason I act the way I do today.
of course I gained all that back in no time.. I had nurses sneaking me cokes towards the end of my stay..

But now you eat all the time right?
actually because of the meds I am on I only eat once a day.. maybe a snack of a banana but more than that I get sick to my stomach, there was a time when i would eat 2 large pizza's in one setting.. but now I am lucky to hold down 3 slices and I have quit drinking cola's and just drink water and milk,
