Hi all!!! Have you guys ever hated some song the first time you heard it but then ended up loving it? I have to say there are more than a couple of Queen songs that are like that for me. Here are just a few:
Father To Son
Killer Queen (which is actually my favorite Queen song now)
She Makes Me
You're My Best Friend
Long Away
Somebody To Love
Drowse
It's Late
Don't Stop Me Now
Cool Cat
I Want To Break Free
A Kind Of Magic
Pain Is So Close To Pleasure
Who Wants To Live Forever
Innuendo
I'm Going Slightly Mad
Looking back on this, I don't honestly see how I could've possibly disliked any one of these songs even one iota, but I have to admit my taste can change very easily.
Yes. "Sisters Are Doin' It For Themselves". I hated this song when it came out. I thought it was loud and screamy and annoying. Now it's one of my favourite tracks :)
One Year of Love
Pain is So Close To Pleasure
Don't Lose Your Head
Good Company
Keep Yourself Alive
Headlong
Action This Day
I Can't Live With You
Delilah
Jealousy
Fun It
More Of That Jazz
Believe it or not, I hated Bohemian Rhapsody when I first heard it and didn't like it for the longest time. Might have been because my husband (at the time) liked it and he really irritated me at that time.
Drowse - Now I think it is one of Roger's best!
Because(the Beatles)- I really love it now and have no idea now why I disliked it.

I'm In Love with My Car, Tenement Funster and Loser in the End... I thought they were a bit stupid...I don't know what made me change my mind... but something did!:P I particularly like 'Loser' Roger's vocals are superb IMO.
Breakthru.
I keep on 'nearly' like One Year of Love, but the chincy karaoke-machine style instrumentation and the saxaphone solo drive me away each time.
hmm, i wouldn't say that i had any song i really hated when i heard it at first.
but at the beginning, back in 1990, when i became a Queen-Fan, there were a lot of songs which i didn't know or i don't understand, cos i only was 5 years old xD
my first favourite was "crazy little thing called love" and later "innuendo" (i loved the solo)
here a few songs i didn't like much when i started to collect the albums in 1992:
drowse
she makes me
in the lap of the gods
tenement funster
funny how love is
some day one day
my baby does me
body language
cool cat
the whole flash lp (except flash's theme and the hero
I could not stand 'Let Me Live' before but now I love it. 'Spread Your Wings' was another. 'The Show Must Go On' I never bothered listening to until a Greatest Hits on telly and it came on and I loved it. I couldn't believe I hadn't watched it.
I'm being serious here.. when I was young I had a hard time listening to Freddie's 'different' voice on The Miracle and Innuendo albums..
.. these songs in particular and it actually took me a year or so.
Headlong
The Show Must Go On
I Want It All
The Invisible Man
Innuendo
White Queen (which is now one of my favorites)
Crazy Little Thing Called Love
I Want To Break Free
Heaven For Everyone
Mustapha
Let Me Entertain You
Great King Rat
Some Day One Day
yeah, and i love all of these to death now!
Hmm, let's think...
Dancer (It's still not my favourite, but I listen to it quite a lot)
Cool Cat
In The Lap of the Gods (Man, I hated that song. I even deleted it from iTunes, then decided I wanted to see what it was like again ;-D )
Flick of the Wrist
Great King Rat
March of the Balck Queen
And... I can't think of any others at the time. I'll let you know if I do!
