Hey guys a quick question for all techies in here
Can MP3 be converted to FLAC ?
just wondered how (since FLAC is new compared to MP3) we come about FLAC files when they obviously originally lived in an MP3 format
Do they have to be WAV files before they can be then formatted to FLAC ?
thanks in advance
Yes, but since MP3 discards a lot of data, thus MAKING it crap, FLAC can not recover that data.
Only a lossless source, such as WAVE (.wav NOT sourced from MP3, WMA or whatever) can be converted to FLAC sensibly.
