Ok I know this isn't about queen music in particular, but I thought this was probably where this post might belong, and you guys might help me.
I recently bought Queen 2 on vinyl, and due to a cluttered table where my vinyl player is situated, the lid snapped shut while putting the vinyl in and in an attempt to save the vinyl I jerked back, only to drop the thing and it got scratched.
Excuses aside, I noticed the vinyl now has a white mark across a small section of March Of the Black Queen, and luckily there is no chang ein the music, but there is a loudish, pop sound every rotation during the end of the song, caused by the needle catching on the scratch. I was hoping if any of you guys knew how to repair the damage, as I have little experience in the field of vinyls (im only 16) and I feel really bad about damaging one of my favorite songs on one of my favorite albums.
Sorry son, but scratches like these on vinyl can not be repaired...
Some company's try to sell unknowing people all kinds of chemicals - but they only make it worse.
And there is NO exception!
I'm afraid the plop will be there for eternity.
Two possible things for you to do:
Get used to the plop, if it is not TOO loud.
(Hey, us people from the vinyl-era once had enourmous trouble getting used to hearing Queen on CD because we MISSED our beloved plops! ;-)
Or buy a new copy of the album. Lucky for you, it's not too difficult to find a regular copy of Queen II for a nice price!
