Freddie did both songs with somekind of basic belief.. Was he christian by jesus or persian/arabic/zorohustrianist by mustapha? My guess is he was none of the issued. He truly had no religion of faith. He questioned it all the world of faith. maybe he kneeled down to both directions to maximise sales... I will leave it to you.. |

I think he was abandoned by faiths because he was gay, even though i reckon the lord can contradict himself sometimes, but i still believe in the lord because I'm just a poor boy....girl |

I don't think that being gay means automatically being an atheist. Concerning the first post, I think that Queen does not propagate any specific religion but makes us rather think about the values of life. |

in an interview, he looked up and pointed up and said 'hes watching over me' or something of the like. |

IMO, Freddie believed in a higher power but was not concerned about being 'punished' in the afterlife because whatever and whoever he (Freddie) was, was what and who this higher power created him to be. |

My mother and I have been saying this for years, and it would make her laugh to "hear" it from Freddie... (Now I'm boggling my mind trying to remember who else I've read that said something like this... :P) |

Gays and lesbians have formed their own Christian Churches, Mosques, etc. Just because they're gay doesn't mean they have to give up having a religion. |

That line "I don't believe (believe not beleive lol) in Perter Pan", etc was saying he believes in Christ and obviously wouldnt put his fate in any of those character since the reply to lord was christ. Jeez I hate American Queen fans (I'm in Dallas but I hate most of my fellow Qeen fns frm the states). Besides it's ridiculous to look for something as complex as a man fate in a disosable pop song. |

As for this whole question... "Jesus Christ: Superstar" (or, however that's punctuated) came out around the time "Jesus" was written - a whole explosion of Jesus-ness. And most people believe that "Mustapha" isn't about anything. I heard he had a Zoroastrian funeral. What does that say ? Probably whatever you want it to say. He was probably a complex person - I know it's unfathomable - whose beliefs may have fluctuated or changed or who knows what over the course of his life. |

I take that line to mean he (the character in the song, not necessarily, Freddie) doesn't believe in any fairytale characters - "lord" and "christ" included. You say lord, I say, christ! I don't believe in Peter Pan, Frankenstein or Superman... |
