I have good news about queen concert in Mannheim .Full Video really exist! My friend work in zdf and I begged him to check what they had got about queen in their archives. Two hours ago he phoned to me and said that he had found two tapes which was called "Queen - mannheim 86 ". |

Someone from the Queen productions should ask for a copy of those tapes in case they don´t have it by now. We all know what can happen with those tapes. Let´s just wait. Great news, thanks. Take care |

This could be one of the most exciting Queen-related discoveries of recent months if not years. I for one can't wait. By the way, this is the show where Fish (of Marillion) joins the guys on stage. That would be a remarkable sight! V. |

Actually I don't think those are the audio-masters, as the radio broadcast was IMO conducted by a local station (SWF) which is associated with the ARD broadcasting company - and not with ZDF, where the tapes were found. So this might be the full concert movie... on ZDF, only snippets of WATC were shown in recent years. So that would be a BIG surprise. Should'nt we ask ZDF officially? No need to mention your friend running around in the vaults... ;-) |

QP won't release them anyway, no market for another '86 concert, especially since Budapest is picked for No.2 should it ever arise as an option. Having said that, you could make the FAN-community very happy with copies of the tapes...not to mention yourself. |

I think i have WATC on video from this concert... Havent seen it in over 10 years.. But they tell before they show it that they were only allowed to film 3 minutes during the concert.... i better go find and check....Then i can count the amount of cameras 2:) |
cmsdrums 20.01.2007 09:52 |
Even if only part of Mannheim video exists, hopefully they may see fit to use it for extras on the Budapest release?? It's a shame if there aren't enough camera angles, because if there was the whole gig, we could have started a campaign to release this instead of Budapest - like QP would take any notice of the fans! By the way, has anybody ever submitted release ideas to QP via the request facility on QOL?? It seems bizarre that they ask for ideas, but obviously never ever take any notice of any suggestions, so why do they bother?!?!? |
Dreamcast 20.01.2007 10:08 |

And the ZDF used the part where Freddie is kicking the ball into the audience as an intro to their in concert series in the late 80s and 90s. They must have something. Something more than WATC. This segment can also be seen on the Magic Years Video. But that footage looks different to the We Are The Champions shoot. Is the Magic Years version shot on film? That would explain the different look. |

Let's face it, Freddie used to throw vinyls aganist the audience, that's the secret of Queen massive records sells. When Fred was touring with Queen and went to a new city, the first thing he always did was go to the record store and bought all the Queen albums, then, throw to the audience in the gig. Of course, people were afraid of it, so before Queen went to his city they bought all Queen albums for left Freddie out of ammo. Now the facts: Queen began to sell like donuts with a Night At The Opera. This is because is a great album? Nope, bacause Freddie learnt Ninjitsu in his first Tour to Japan before the release of ANATO. He used to throw records in the place of the traditional Shurikens. Hot Space disn't sell well, thats because Freddie promised stay quiet, but for A Kind of Magic he learnt the lesson and come back at full power, and... they sell like never before. Let's face it, we are fans of a band of people with a secret life. Fred Mercury: A very powerful Ninja Brian May: A Freemason Roger Taylor: A Zeta, from Zeta Reticulli John Deacon: No, no, no, i don't want to talk about Deacon, too scary... |
