The last time I ever heard the word "queer" was on television, on the show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."
More popular words that seem to come up when mentioning Queen are "gay," "AIDS," and "amazing."

And because they think they're smart if they change one letter.
They tend to think that all the members of Queen are gay.....ignorance knows no bounds.
What happened to the "Queer Eye" show?
I never see it on anymore.

I would call Freddie either a queer or a queen, and could probably come up with a more interesting term on top of those.
I guess it's what people remember. "Didn't Queen die of AIDS ? Yeah, AIDS is so weird, I mean, like, don't faggots get that ???"
I honestly don't care what people say. And if I'm quick enough, I can turn the whole affair into a joke.
That happens to me too and it makes me so mad. Queen is the name of the band and queer has absolutely nothing to do with the band. Freddie Mercury was simply a bisexual and theres nothing wrong with that. People are just idiots so if anyone calls Freddie a queer, just mention to them that no straight man has ever been able to accomplish what he has done in this world.
I know I mentioned Queen to someone in my class the other day and she goes 'Isn't that the gay group?'
I go 'No, one of them was a homosexual and all the rest were straight.'
But she wouldn't believe me. I was like 'Just cos one of them liked the fellas it doesn't mean they are all gay and they made some bloody good music.' She kept going eww. Then someone said I was a lesbian and thats how the rest of the lesson went lol.
But it was good she knew who they were though even if for the wrong reasons cos I hate it when you talk about Queen and the other person doesn't know who they are its so frustrating. But I've made sure all my friends know who they are!! :)
This kids who insist Freddie was 100%ly queer are just too little to know what sexuality is because of lack of experience - this is my personal opinion. If these are not kids who insist Freddie was queer - then I don't know. After all, sexuality is a delicate and complex subject if looking at it seriously.

Hold up...Freddie was gay? That's it, I'm going to light my entire Queen collection on fire.
