My thanks to those who were able to help reconstruct the 'lost' parts of my database. Feel free to add further omissions and/or corrections. A Happy New year to one and all. Good hunting and collecting in 2007, may it be special. I also think I am getting too old for all of this... |

A fairly quiet year on the Queen front, eh? ;) Thanks once again, John, it is appreciated and as always, is fascinating. |

Thanks, John. Lots of information there. Should be pretty much complete or as complete as it can be made, hehe :). Something caught my attention. Are you sure there are recordings of EVERY concert you mention on your post? I'm particulary interested in the one from San Diego since I was there... my fifth Q+PR concert (first one in 2006) and it was the best of them all for me. Someone told me that the person who had recorded this concert was not interested in trading or anything but now I see you mentioning it in your post. Do you have the recording or know if someone has it? is it making the rounds already? Any comment would be very appreciated. Thanks in advance and keep up the good work. Have a very happy new year! Didn't word come down from up top (ie. Brian) that they weren't putting much effort (if at all) into recording the shows this year? It's a bugger, if so... I'm not sure if he just meant video, or the audio as well. Hmm! |

I'm not sure if he just meant video, or the audio as well. Hmm!Audio-recording is so simple for the crew that it would be considered standard. All it involves is running a DAT-recorder or multitrack hooked up to the soundboard. |

radio_what's_new wrote: Thanks again for the info. But why did you mention all the concerts as well?Simply because some people like to collect these as part of their personal 'ultimate collection'. Why else would I include such under this umbrella? Besides, if you use the search button for previous years (especially the 1970 eponymous version) you will find that I began this project with a clear set of personal guidelines. That is not to say my guidelines are correct, after all, this is mainly a cataloguing exercise and I accept that some readers may catalogue in a slightly different manner from my own. However, the main objective remains to distribute as accurate information as possible, and once 'published' leave it up to the individual to ammend, correct or employ that data as they individually see fit. To write this collection without including live material would in effect be incomplete, and that is NOT what I started out to do, which was to provide a 'complete', user-friendly, all-in-one-place database. Of course, I would highly recommend anyone who wishes to learn more about Queen live in 2006 to visit Martin's excellent 'Queenconcerts.com' - as he really is the expert in this area. My potted version above is no more than a flavour for collectors of such bootleg material. |

Wiley wrote: ... I'm particulary interested in the one from San Diego since I was there... Someone told me that the person who had recorded this concert was not interested in trading or anything but now I see you mentioning it in your post. Do you have the recording or know if someone has it? is it making the rounds already? WileyOh dear the sacredness of scriptural texts! I can understand the reluctance to share studio material - as obviously, there are very few sources from which such tracks could possibly originate from. In other words, plug the source, and you kill the 'spread of infection'. However with live material, it is a completely different ball game. I would guess that the crowd for Queen+ Paul Rogers at San Diego was in excess of 20,000? If correct, that translates into potentially over 20,000 different recording sources - which kind of makes a mockery of the exclusiveness of your sole non-trader! With the prolification of miniturisation and quality of personal recording devices, I would estimate that if only one-half of one per cent of the audience were miked-up, that would equal 100 different personal recordings of this event. Ofcourse, it would be impossible to state which recording would be the best without listening to all available versions, nevertheless, I can assure you that very decent copies do exist 'out there', and that you should spend a little energy searching for these - rather than trying to coax your 'source' with the 'ultimate rarity' in exchange. In effect, it is all about currency, and in my opinion, (generally) post 2000 concerts are NOT as valuable as gigs from the 1980's - and concerts from the 1980's are not as valuable as concerts from the 1970's - simply because the volume and ease of opportunites which exist today, did not do so twenty or thirty years ago. My bottom line is - your associate may think he is being ruthless or clever (or indeed both), but in fact he is being a fool unto him/herself because once you find this concert elsewhere, he will have nothing left to trade with. |

I also notice I failed to include a list of any UK 'X-Factor' hopefuls who may have sung Queen material. (But as I never viewed the show - I hope I may be forgiven for this oversight). Any help? |

Hi there John! Nice to see this awesome compile again! Another page to add to my Ultimate Collection CD version ;-D |

Hi.. I never said that there was one sole trader of San Diego or anything. I only wanted to know if you assumed there should be a recording just because it is the most likely thing or if you knew someone who had it. The crowd in San Diego was about 6300 people but your argument still holds. I didn't mean to bother you, it was an honest question. Sorry if I did. No need to get uptight about a simple question, however unimportant it might be to you. Keep up the good work, which you always do. I'll look forward to a even cooler Ultimate Collection for 2007. Have a Happy New Year. |

Have a Happy New Year.Oh no Wiley, I sincerely apologise, as that is quite the reverse of the tone I meant to convey. Infact, I don't think we have ever had a cross-word to say to each other - is that not the case? I still stand by what I actually wrote, but my anger was not directed at you - and again I am sorry if you feel that it was. Rather, it was meant to be a blunt swipe at those who try to use this sort of material - not as a bargaining chip (which is the basis all good swaps should be built upon) - but as some sort of emotional blackmail, in an attempt to screw as much as possible from the 'needy party'. I am all for 'fair-trade', but I do get a little upset at those who try to be too greedy in a trade. So please accept my apology, as I really was on your side all along - but in the words of Led Zep '...Sometimes words have two meanings...', or in this case, (if you re-read the reply back) two-tones! |

Thanks for that - I am very poor at proof reading my own material. I do not know why though. I think it is because the brain accepts what it 'thinks' it means - rather than what is actually written down - but it is great that we can combine talents like this to push the accuracy level up. That is always a good thing in my view. Other additions/corrections to the main body: Cover Artists: Virtual Queen – Tie Your Mother Down/We Will Rock You Released: 30 November 2006 link We Will Rock You Tie Your Mother Down Serry Vietinhoff wrote: "Felix & Arty: Woman You're So Beautiful Written: Roger Taylor Drums/backing vocals: Roger Taylor" Roger played on keyboards and guitar also.Noted and corrected Serry. There was also a fan mix of this earlier in the year, in this very site, however, as it was not official, I did not include it. |

John S Stuart wrote: I am all for 'fair-trade', but I do get a little upset at those who try to be too greedy in a trade.I totally agree with that, John. Now that I read both our posts it seems like I might have overreacted to your post, hehe :). My bad. No harm done. I understand people wanting to get something good in return from their material, maybe being a bit protective with it but I find this "holy grail" attitude some people attribute to their stuff to be too much. I know collectors who have recordings that I've never seen in others' lists but are very cool about them. They just want someone to offer something else they don't have in return and that seems fair. I just hope I can get my hands on San Diego 2006 in the near future. If someone else reads this and has it, let me know, I might be able to get something good for you, hehe :). Back to you, John... We're all right over here. I'm a "John" myself, you know? It's just mine's spelt "Juan" in spanish, hehe :). Happy 2007 for everyone! |
