Yeah! I was wondering the same...but then I found out they edited it...lol...for a reason that I don't know...:/...maybe they thought the performances weren't good enough...or maybe they were too long and took up too much space...lol.
Nah, i dont think that could be it..an hour and a half is far from to much for a concert...I dont understand why the entire first half would be left off :(
To steal money from us fans. Within a few years the complete concert will be released and guess what: every fan's gonna buy it. It's a simple routine that QP follows and it works.

Do you mean the Metallica, Extreme, Def Leppard, etc., part of the show?
If yes, IMO, Queen would have to pay all of these performers royalty fees. With these bands on different records labels, the legality would be a nightmare.
I don't get why it sucks so bad. The sound is crap, and I'm not sure it's just the recording. Did that show blow? I love the Def Leppard/Brian May 'Now I'm Here' and of course the George Michael segment, but the rest of the show was fairly weak I would say. Sometimes it's not the vocals that suck but the instrumentation. I imagine band and crew performed shitty out of depression.
The Best vocalists that night:
George Michael
Joe Elliot
Zucchero
Seal
Robert Plant
James Hetfield
The really, really crappy vocalists that night:
Liza Minneli
Paul Johnson(I threw a fit thinking this horrible singer was fronting Queen when I was confused on first hearing about Paul Rodgers. Thank god they picked the right Paul.)
Roger Dahltrey
Elton John
Annie Lennox(very dissapointing that she of all people bombed)
Of all the live Queen related concerts I have ever heard, this is 2nd only to Brian's '93 Brixton Academy official release(I've heard 3 other shows from this tour and they blow the crappy Brixton show off the map.)
My favourites were (in no particular order):
Seal
Roger Daltry
Lisa Stansfield
George Michael
David Bowie
I dont like Paul Young at ALL, but he did an ok job that night..
People who..I didnt like:
Annie Lennox
Zucchero
Robert Plant

That did not keep them from releasing the Double VHS tape, right? Copyright problems cannot be the reason.

I've never seen the tribute concert released on VHS tape. I don't know if they ever did release it on tape.

I completely agree. I was at the show with a few friends who'd been to see Queen at Wembley in '86 and they couldnt believe how poor the sound was compared with the '86 show.
The original broadcast from the TV comes across even worse as it hasnt been overdubbed and polished like the DVD has in places.
And yes, Daltrey, icon to many as he is, really was poor that night too.
I think musical prowess was put aside that night. It didnt matter though, the occasion itself was bigger than that.

It's all because Queen fans are too much lazy as I always said...
As I stated above, and is shown in your first link, the tribute concert WAS NOT released in the U.S. on video tape. I've seen the 2 disc dvd set in stores, but it does not contain the Metallica, Extreme, Def Leppard, etc., sets.
