Dear Queen fans,
I am a music teacher in a secondary school and I would like some information. My sixth formers are doing a project that involves them creating a practice routine for guitar, vocals and drums. I want them to understand how important it is to warm-up before any performance. I thought it would help if they could see how famous musicians such as those in Queen go about preparing for a big performance. I know that Freddie would have had a lot of vocal warm-ups as he was a trained singer. I wondered if there was any way of finding out what his practice regime would have entailed. I would also like to know how the other members of the group prepare for a performance as well?
Any information would be greatly appreciated by myself, and my class.
Kind regards,
Freckles.
Brian would most probably do some finger stretching exercises and some scales practises on the guitar to warm up his fingers.
As for Freddie, there is some footage of him doing a warm up routine (In the Magic Years vids I think) where Roger joins in as well for a laugh.
The Drummer (Roger Deacon) used to beat anything he could get his hands on. Most tours had a roadie hired for this purpose, who was equipped with heavy padding.
Unfortunately, roadies are not known for their intellect, so many neglected some or all of the armour, leading to hospitalisation and a couple of grazed knuckles for Rog. Needless to say this would result in a lawsuit, the proceeds of which were shared amongst the band making them the millionaires they are today.

I don't think Freddie was a trained singer. Gifted certainly but a trained singer would not have fatigued their voice nor done the damage that Freddie did to his voice.
A good singer should do breathing exercises and some vocal warmups before performing. Stage performers do many of the same warmups as singers.
well he certainly didnt need to rehearse the piano - he hardly played it!!!
anyway he had the ones he did play learnt off so well...because that's all he played...unlike brian who had to have every little bit learnt for every song.
You may see Freddie doing some warmup before the Wembley concert (see the Bonus DVD), looks like random vocals, Roger does join him. Sounds a lot like his impros with the audience.
Practice routine was for the all general discussion that has the all formats available on this it was good to get. I was able to admire all details about the topicsmill 2019 this was wrote by one of the famous company y that work in this city since long.
