For those of you who do have this and read it...i would just like some insight to it. Your thoughts please...... Thank you and Merry Christmas... (and please forgive me if this topic has been done before...it's hard to keep up) |

Read it and have your own opinion. |

well my friend i do plan on reading it, but i was just striking up conversation on what other people who have read it think about it...that's all... i apologize Serry for sounding like a fucking pompous ass???? |

My opinion is that book is so fucking good that you should go and read it right now and have your own opinion. It's much funnier to start discussion and conversation about something what you know. |

Thanks for the advice, my good man. I'm quite interested in reading a bit of it myself. To be honest, the name "Greg Brooks" on the front cover kind of drew me to it. |

Its a fantastic read and i cant believe how much people bag it on here. I really enjoyed it and it can be seen how much effort has gone into it. |

I think it's a very good book. I'm always referring to it as some queenzoners don't seem to know anything about Queen. At least Greg Brooks does know his stuff - regardless of what other people say about him! Fair enough, there may be one or two little mistakes in it but it's the best book i've found up to now. Yuletide Greetings! |

When it comes to Queen "Live", Greg´s 1st edition still is MY "bible"... ...but I have to admit that I still haven´t bought Zeni´s "Queen - The Complete Works" though! Is it worth buying... reading... and turning into a "sinner" Zeni??? Greg "Books"... you are GOD to me..since you spelled "Deutschlandhalle" right from ´78 till ´84!!! PS: Sorry, but I have to leave now as they are going to show "Purvis Bueller's Day Off" on TV right now... and I realy love that one since I first saw it twenty years ago! :-))) |

I couldn't stop myself from posting in this thread. I'm assuming we're talking about the second edition... Most people will love the book, and I generally enjoy it too. I reference it now and again, but the truth is, almost every page has a mistake on it. About half of the setlists in the 70s are wrong, for one thing. Greg himself has admitted that he's catering to the majority, and knew very well from the beginning that there were hundreds of errors - and that the overwhelming majority of his readers won't notice them. That, combined with Greg's title as Queen archivist, is why this book is successful, and most likely why any other book about Queen live released in the future - even if it is more correct - will be bound to fail, because it "doesn't agree with the 'official' source". Truly unfortunate. |

The book is indeed full of mistakes and there is so much more to be said about Queen live. I hope someone(I'd say: go for it bob) will make a true QUEEN LIVE book:accurate, with interesting musical analysis, with reviews from newspapers and magazines,... |

Dude, I was joking! Hence the wink after my post... Look at my post earlier in the thread! You've been at this forum for years, so you should know I'm probably GB's biggest critic in the world (look at my blog, for starters!). You're preaching to the choir. |

By the way, Bohemian: will you ever get it right that Zeni did not write that book you keep mentioning? Even the author of the book told you off for it already. Jan |
