(1) I sing now. When I was in fifth grade, my teacher chose someone else as the best girl singer in the class. I never sang again UNTIL I "met" QUEEN IN 2004. I karaoke (to Queen only) in the privacy of my own home, and sometimes I will sing in "public" such as joining in on a happy birthday song or singing to my niece and nephew. I will even belt out a hymn or two when I end up in church for some occasion or other. (2) I saw Queen +PR in March, and it was the most fun I ever had. (3) I have spent countless hours, maybe hundreds, ok - thousands listening to and watching Queen (good ol' ebay.) This always makes me very happy! (4) I have pictures of mostly Freddie on my walls, and I call it The Freddie Mercury Museum. (5) I have found some like-minded fans on Queenzone, and I love the tidbits we share.
My biggest life changing experience has been in my musical and audio engineering abilities. If I hadn't been recording myself covering Queen, I wouldn't have learnt how to play better or how to achieve those sounds.
But of course, the real joy comes from watching the videos/albums and just experiencing the joy of hearing them. That might be the way they change life for the better!
Adam.
Queen and especially Freddie Mercury have introduced me to the world of style and sophistication - in their first albums there are so many deep thoughts... and of course the atmosphere of Bohemian Rhapsody has changed my life completely - Queen gave me an 'impulse' to think, to be creative and so much more...
Yes. Simply due to their music being like a kind of relaxing or expressing therapy for me.
I'd be miserable without it.
No other band satisfies me as much. (although some come close)
well, it sorta saved my life. before i started lisening to queen i was depressed but when i started lisening to there music i felt happy which is a very big deal to me.
THANK YOU QUEEN!!!

I guess their music made (and makes) me happy...
I don't really know. I think the music was one of many contributing factors to a major turn-about I had in my life - but certainly not the only thing responsible.
Ooo ! Yeah - the year I covered my school planner in Queen pictures, no one stole it ! I mean, they even stole the one the year I covered it in old movie poster mini-pictures and fairies. I guess it took a REAL fairy to make it theft-proof.
And our mom named one of cats "Delilah"... I don't know if that's for the better or anything, though. But at least she came with a song and my mom didn't make one up for her (if you think "Delilah" is a horrible song, I invite you to listen to my mom's home-made cat songs).
I'm spanish and when I discovered them back in 1992 I began to study English and now I'm an English teacher, probably thanks to them.
It also makes me very happy to listen to these four guys
Queen have taken all my money and they want more :(
It's a love/hate relationship. An addiction. Very dysfunctional. There are times I get away from Queenzone in particular for a few months and find that I'm a bit happier and not spending so much money.. QZ seems to feed the addiction.
But I suppose I can't blame Queen. It's my own personal hangups that cause me to abuse the Queen relationship in this way.
There's certainly plenty of great music so in that way I'd say my life is better. It just hasn't led to any major improvements in my life other than meeting a couple decent friends.. I'd say buddhism is probably better than Queen. I saw real changes there. It's like buddhism is Meryl Streep and Queen is Johnny Depp.
I learnt how to speak English, made several friends all over the world, learnt a little bit of piano (but I need to practise lots, which I haven't been doing), I'm learning how to play the guitar, I can do some bass guitar, and it was thanks to Queen that I finally found out what kind of music I like, as after being obsessed with them for a couple of years I looked for other good rock bands and figured out I love rock music. :)

Totally agree with you; but in my case Queen helped me to figure out I like prog rock and classic rock :D
what a great topic, but keeping it brief
1)got me thru AIDS-related death of family member
2)John Deacon inspires me to play bass
3)introduced my wife (then girlfriend) to Queen's music at the NJ show
Funny you should mention homosexuality, it did the opposite for me. Queen made me comfortable enough with my HETERO-ness that I can prance around in poofy clothes now.
because of queen, i learned how to be different from the rest of the people. because of queen, i was able to improve my voice. because of queen, i have all my QZ friends. because of queen, i learned to love music.
