even if It was real... I wouldn´t like to have an autograph that wasn´t made specially for me... By the way... Brian HATE people who only get near to him to ask an autograph or takes pictures... he say that he prefers fans who look to his eyes... shake hands... and even have a chat... instead of "looking at damn pieces of paper all the time"... literally. I understand him... if I could met Brian... I don´t gonna ask him a sign and run without saying nothing... is PATHETIC... Nice chat man. P. |

just to add that if you read the auction it says its a reproduced autograph.. so yeah.. its fake..lol.. I mean it may be his actual signature.. but scanned or copied of sorts.. yeah.. that FM album signed was a hoot.. Brian had a good laugh about it.. Brian is a good humored man.. Someone once was selling an Air guitar signed by Brian May in Invisable ink.. and all Brian had to say was not to cry to him when it went out of tune.. lol |
Mr. Scully 17.12.2006 05:55 |
It's a preprinted fake. Yeah, it's nice if Brian prefers fans who want to shake hands or have a chat BUT!!! I've met Brian like four times so far and almost always there were like 20 female fans around him. Impossible to shake hands, even more impossible to have a short chat. 1 obtained signature was the maximum that could be achieved. |

does that mean the autograph I have on GH 3 isn't authentic? ;-) |
Marcos Napier 17.12.2006 11:37 |
I'd rather have a 30 seconds chat with any of the people I admire than getting an autograph with my name writtten on it a thousand times. |

Sadly, there have been unscrupulous individuals who have tried to sell Queen MIH covers with Freddie's autograph (and succeeded on occasion) |

Indeed a very bad fake. About Brian: it is true that nowadays it is very hard to meet either him or Roger. I find it remarkable, as a couple of years ago it was still fairly easy to meet them. Brian for instance was much more easy to reach until mid 90's. During AW-tour he started more and more leaving fans, while especially on the BTTL tour he was very very willing to meet people. I met him a couple of times and he always took time to sign multiple items and to have chats. First time I met him, he stayed for about half an hour (!) with us before entering the hotel and going to bed. |
Mr. Scully 22.12.2006 07:03 |
I personally think it's very selfish if for example Roger ignores all the fans in front of the hotel and goes inside to get drunk instead. The fans are often freezing there for many hours and the signatures would require like 5 minutes of Roger's time. |

Priorities I guess. |

The closest I ever got to getting a "Queen" autograph was when I got my Return Of The Champions CD booklet autographed by Paul Rodgers in Vancouver, through his tour manager. (Interestingly enough, the booklet has a misprint error...the first two sheets are repeated twice instead of having 4 sheets of unique pages) |

masterstroke_84 wrote: even if It was real... I wouldn´t like to have an autograph that wasn´t made specially for me... P.I agree I was given an autograph from a friend who works at Gatwick airport, but then I got an autograph on my WWRY book when Brian done an autograph session. This means far more to me than the other autograph (in fact I threw the other one away) as it is also linked to the time I met my hero. I can understand Brians frustration, but to me, getting an autograph is part of the memory (similar to buying any gifts on holiday) as long as it is on something rahter than a piece of scruffy paper! |

He said Roger was an arrogant prat who was too far up his own arse and Brian was a living legend. So maybe it is best Roger doesn't greet his fans much XD Also about the signing autographs it comes with the being famous package so they shouldn't get annoyed really if people want their autographs. Brian's autograph is very much treasured :) |

"my friend got to meet Roger and Brian at Freddie's 60th at WWRY. He said Roger was an arrogant prat who was too far up his own arse and Brian was a living legend. Wanting to talk to me even though I don't know them. I don't really understand how the autograph thing got so accepted, but it seems to me that it has very little to do with the autograph itself - I think it is just tangible proof that you "met" that person (in case you wake up the next morning and feel like it was too good to be true). Of course, it is bitter-sweet because you know you are not making any sort of impact on them and they most likely would never remember you from that brief meeting. Also, you can assume that anything you say to them has been heard by them thousands of times already. It is not really very satisfying to only meet people briefly. It is much more satisfying to get to know people. |
