O.K I'm thinking about getting a new guitar soon and I wanted to know if any has got the Brian May 2006 Model Guitar and where they got it from (UK hopefully) and how much for. Also will I need a certain amp to get the best out of the guitar? I want to sound as close to the real thing as possible. Any info on the guitar would be much appreciated.

I did my own questioning about these things back in August and bought the 2006 model. I am very happy with it!
Here is my little recording with the guitar along with a TB (Treble Booster) and a Vox Valvetronix amp. link
That site is where I'd have gotten my guitar as well, so good choice! That was certainly the cheapest I found. I managed a bit of a discount for buying from my girlfriend's music shop.
Also, I would advise you try some amps to see what you think. A good site to check out would be the link site. There are many threads about getting the Brian sounds. My own happiness comes from the above setup I mentioned. But others will have their own ideas.
Adam.
Others have their own ideas, too true.... I don't think I've seen too many agreements on this matter!
Remember the RS Pedal thread??!
Haha.
One would best aim for an amp that achieves even a vaguely vintage sound - I can't really stand most Peavey equipment, but their Classic 30 has a very creamy tone that suits the RS when all the pickups are on and in phase. Solo tones sound ok.
A lot of people I've ran into *hate* the Laney Tube Fusion amp, and to be honest the clean channel isn't so good and they don't have that many available sounds.
However, I've found that at very high gain (and big big volume, haha) the Laney can sound quite authentic when you're doing solos such as Bohemian Rhapsody, whatever.
From personal experience, one of the better sounds I heard when using the Red Special came from a Laney VC-15. So if you can't get a full blow AC-30, go for that. It's a great sound ; the amp is somewhat smaller, maybe not appropriate for a live situation, but its great for recording.
Have fun!
