A wisdom tooth is coming in on the left hand side of my mouth (bottom part of my mouth) My cheek is swelling a bit.. is this normal?? Should I be worried? |

Ouch. I dunno...are you going to be getting yours extracted soon? I think if it's like that for a while and gets worse maybe you should go get it checked out. Mine are starting to come in a bit, and it's been giving me more headaches than usual. At first I thought it was just my jaw because it hurts all the time anyway, but I've realized it's coming from the bottom as opposed to near my temples. I think I still got a while before I actually get them out, though. Which I'm terrified of. :-P |

Yeah, that's normal. I had all four of mine taken out surgically because they weren't going to grow in right, and my mouth was swollen for days. Take asprin when you need it, and eat lots of soft food (avoid really hot or really cold things though. Babyfood, yogurt and smoothies and stuff work good. Save the tempreture extreme stuff, like hot soup and ice cream for later) |

If you look in my profile you'll see the swelling it caused on my left cheek (in the photo, you'll see it on your right). The tooth is making my glands hurt as well under my jaw. My girlfriend bought some stuff that numbs the pain which works a bit... not completely, but enough. |

I've not had mine out but I've twice seen the result of having all 4 surgically taken out...swell city. |

Jake, Mayweed is good when you have toothaches. I'm sure you can buy Mayweedtea over there. But you better go and see your dentist soon. A swollen cheek isn't uncommon but if it hurts a lot, or you think it's coming out in the wrong way or something your dentist can save you from a lot of pain and problems. Feel better! |

I had all four of mine removed when I was 19. The only issue I had with having them removed was throwing up after the surgery. That was awful. Btw, you look great Jake!! I'm glad you're doing well. :) |

My son had all four out last December. He experienced pain before the surgery as well. The two bottom teeth were impacted, and they had to break a bit of jaw bone. He did great. Never even took a pain pill, didn't swell. He got them removed on a Friday, was back to work on Monday. I was so glad for him. My experience was much the same when I got mine removed all those years ago. I even went out to dinner later in the evening on the day I got them removed, with my husband (who was then my boyfriend.). :-) |

Those teeth can be a little uncomfortable when they come in. Do not worry to much about it. |

I waited to have mine out until I was 28, bad move..... My dentist said on a scale of one to 10, mine were a 30. Almost had to break my jaw in order to remove them. Took two weeks until I could eat proper food again. I was told that I had room for them as a teenager, and did, but one kept getting infected from time to time, so I had them removed at 28. I wish I would have had them taken when I was 16-17-18. |

My stupid teeth are behind schedule. When I was getting new teeth, everyone thought it must be the wisdom teeth... but noooo - it's the SECOND molars being excessively late... (on the bottom, they're still partially in the gums) I hate my teeth... Because one of them didn't even come in - it's still up in my jaw and they want to remove a bicuspid or something to get it to come in (you can't really tell - they're still overcrowded...). If I ever get wisdom teeth, I think I'm royally fucked... I'm sorry... I had to rant on the hatred of my teeth that just refuse to do the right thing... |

My cheeks kind of look like that, and my teeth are fine... It's going to be a riot when my wisdom teeth come in! :P Anywho, good luck with that! Teeth can be so complicated.. I can understand Al Jardine. I can't wait till I have my operation! :D |

Because it won't be surprising when my unseen-by-orthodontist teeth end up like that ? :O They've pushed out on the upper side where the canine tooth actually came in... Let's see... with a whole new tooth... ... ... I'm not asking it to come in EVER. YOU KNOW - I ACTUALLY WANTED BRACES. |

god ive had so much done to my teeth; braces, whitening, extractions...i used to have freddie teeth (ok my overbite wasnt as bad XD). i had my wisdom teeth out last year, lets hope you dont bruise easy, or are a quick healer. if you do have them extracted, its more uncomfortable than painful. i swelled up like a chipmunk (i have pics XD) it didnt look like me but its hilarious. normally i dont swell. dont drink from straws an hour after extraction either....ouchies! >.< yes its normal. youre fine. take it easy and talk to a dentist asap. |
