Hello,
I'm starting to think more and more that immediately after the release of the miracle, Queen should have done one mini show, like to promote it, like on some TV show, or at a sporting event, just like 3 songs from the album and thats it. Freddie didn't look too bad in 1989 with his beard and all, and I think he would have made it through 3 songs, and it would have dissuaded people into thinking that he was ill. had I been Queens manager, I would have asked them to do it, and dolled Freddie up in make up. He looked just fine in breakthru and IWIA. Dont you guys think it was possible?
Actually they were invited to a big German TV show called "Wetten Dass" in 1989. But as we all know it never happened. If this was due to Freddie's state of Health or because "I Want it all" was to heavy for a family programm we will never know :(
Freddie was really ill in those times..thank god we kept working!!
the guy was almost dead...and he kept singing and creating...also I heard once he was scared of not being able to sing in public...that was one of the reason he did playback in 1988 with Montserrat Caballe!!!
He was not able to play even 3 live songs by 1990, think about it!
I still have a feeling Freddie could have done at least 3 songs, considering he was full speed running during breakthru, danced pretty fast in the invisible man, was very mobile in IGSM, and was very upbeat in headlong. I believe he could have done it with some prior preparation.
Brian and Roger have both stated that Freddie was very ill starting in 1989, and that doing those videos took a lot out of him. There's no way that Freddie would have ever been able to do any kind of a concert, no matter the length.
And if you were Queen's manager and "made" them do that, there's no doubt you would've been relieved of your duties pretty quickly.
Get on with your lives, kids. What are you discussing here? That you demand a short concert with Freddie? He is dead and he's been dead for 15 years and you complain that in the past there was no show? Doesn't it appear ridiculous to you?
