The queen cover band mayqueen are reforming. I'm sort of an authority on this as i will be the new vocalist! keep your eyes on the link for more details soon. Its a difficult process for the band founder ralph to rebuild his band after touring with the same line up since 1997. however, TheQueenKings does not spell the end for mayqueen. when the new line-up is ready to gig you can expect the same high quality show you would expect from Mayqueen. I hope fans of the former line up will come and see the new! if so i'll see you next year!

I just checked out the media section of the site. It's all old stuff, though, but it sounded marvellous - and I'm not one to give out compliments unless they are truly warranted. The instrument section is brilliant - if Queen had used backing tracks, they'd sound like MayQueen. I have no idea what the new lineup will sound like, but if it's anything like what's found in the media page, then it's definitely something I wish I could see.
if anything it will be better!! ha, but then i WOULD say that! but seriously, all of the band members are experienced musicians. I'm the youngest member at 23. ralph knows his stuff. we haven't had the chance to rehearse together yet as its early day, but i have high expectations having seen what ralph is capable of putting together (you've heard that yourself in the media section). thanks for the positive reply!
Finally, a tribute band with a guitarist that doesn't suck mega balls!
I have to say, vocalists with strong accents give me the shits, I reckon they should just go for broke and sing it in their own language. I would give quids to hear a Japanese guy, for instance, do Teo Torriate all in his own language.
This is a pretty tight band though, I'll say that much - and even though his pronunciation is out the window, the singer is great.
fair enough. that's your opinion. but there are a lot of queen fans out there who were too young to see queen when they last toured and can't afford the price of seeing queen+pr so a good tribute band is decent alternative. take pink floyd for example, i am never likely to see the real thing live, but that didn't stop me having a brilliant time seeing the australian pink floyd (tribute) show.
really? were you a Queen and pr trib B4 the reform? i was just thinking... you couldn't have been formed that long before your reform! either way, good luck with the reform!
I agree with your opinions on tribute bands Inmydefence.
I was too young to see Queen and Freddie back then when they had their last US tour.
Nor was I able to see Q+PR either.
A tribute bands the closest and best thing possible for new Queen fans like me,and i'm on the mailing list for this band link
They're pretty good imo,and I hope to see them as well as the other Queen tributes in the US.
And good luck with MayQueen,i'll be sure to check out more of your site.
saw a dire straits tribute on saturday.... amazingly great band! called brothers in arms i believe! dire straits is another band i'm too young to have seen live. btw mayqueen has another site as well as the .de site. its link it will be updated alot over the next few months so check back when u can and have a look. cheers!
I downloaded DSMN, it sounds great :-) Good luck to you and the whole band. I have fond memories of a long night with Ralf at the hotel bar after the Dutch Queen convention...
If you're as good as the original MayQueen then I'll definitely come to watch you. They rocked when I saw them. One of the best tribute bands there is.
