Lately, a lot of new users have joined QZ who keep changing their screen names, so we older regulars have no chance to get to know them. As a result we have a community within the community which is not desirable. On the other hand it is not easy for a newbie to get to know the older users who take it for granted that everybody knows who they are. Please post what you want the other members to know but be careful not to post anything personal you want to keep to yourself. Let me make a start. My name is Barbara and I am from Germany. I joined Queenzone in early 2001 before the big crash of the forum in July 2001. I hosted the 2nd edition of the Queenzone mp3 server and since then I have been a passionate Queen collector with emphasis on Queen videos and I try to share as much as possible with as many Queen fans as possible. I am the current founder of the QZ chat room and a hub operator. Since 2002 I have been helping Richard with some admin tasks like uploading pictures, validating Freddie tributes, answering emails, writing FAQ articles and quizzes. I am a member of other forums and Queen websites but QZ is my main "internet home" Apart from Queen I am an addicted reader, I collect first edition books, old cameras, silver coins and I am a human rights and peace activist in various organisations. |

I would like to introduce myself, but you know Barbara... i have some reasons of why i can't :( You know me, a little, but you know me, and some people here know me too. But i'm a Queenzoner since 1999, and Queen fan since 1991. |
PieterMC 21.11.2006 09:13 |
My name is Pieter and I have been posting on Queenzone since around 1997. I met my wife, Erin, through Queenzone. I used to be a admin at Queenzone but caused one of the biggest arguments in QZ history by banning somebody. I now run queenarchives.com and queentraders.com with Erin. I am orginally from Scotland but now live in South Carolina in the US. |

Deacon Fan 21.11.2006 10:42 |
Hello fellow fans. My name is Donnie. I've been a Queen fan since I was a young lad and I've been around here since late 2003. My goal really is to be as invisible as possible while still making people laugh and wonder, and occasionally sharing my knowledge. I dislike all other people for the most part, but within the text-based world of venues such as QZ I sometimes pretend to enjoy others' company while maintaining a safe distance. I ask that you all leave me alone whilst simultaneously enjoying my words of wisdom whenever possible. I brush my teeth every day but I don't floss. Instead I scrape assorted residues off with toothpicks and stiff paper. And I live in the United States. |
AspiringPhilosophe 21.11.2006 11:07 |
Hello all! I'm Maggie, and fairly new to the QZ family, I became a member in about May of 2005, but I've been a Queen fan since the first time I heard Princes of the Universe on the old Highlander TV show around 1996. I have a blog here, which I update when I can, but other than that I'm not too big of a regular poster on the threads. I'm usually in the Personal threads if I'm posting anywhere, and usually about fairly intellectual stuff. I'm a graduate student and graduate assistant at CMU (a university in Michigan, USA) studying history. It's not what I thought it would be, but it's a free Masters Degree, so I have to stick with it. I've met some very good friends through QZ (some I've even met in person, and am going to meet another one in person over spring break). Most of us here are pretty cool, if I do say so myself. I know the group I tend to chat with the most loves to debate things, so if you are up for some mental acrobatics, look for us! The friends I've met here are introducing me more to the older stuff of Queen's, which I'm forever in their debt for, since I started out fairly limited to the stuff on the Greatest Hits Platinum Edition three disc set. I've also got a friend from here teaching me music theory when we've got the time, and that's helping also to cultivate not only a new appreciation of Queen, but a new appreciation of music in general. K...that's enough! |

Dear fans of the greatest band in the land, My name is Steve and have been a dedicated Queen fan for about two years now! I'm new to posting on this site and I agree that it isn't what it used to be. I hope I'm not to blame... Anyway, I play the trumpet in my high school band and enjoy it immensly! I've been told by my friends that I'm obsessed with Queen and should get a life. Don't get me wrong, I do have a life. Its called romance and music! I just can't get enough of both! Well, I hope to get to know all of you so called "old timers." Afterall, we (newbies) could learn so much from you. I wish you all the best and can't wait to get to know all of you. Good bye ladies and gents... Yours truly, Steve |
Janet 21.11.2006 11:28 |
I am Janet (obviously! ;-)). I live in Ohio in the USA. I have been a member of Queenzone since 1997 and became a fan of the band in 1975 after hearing Killer Queen played at a school dance. I am a modest collector of Queen as well and enjoy everything from dvds and cds to fan club mags, books, posters, t shirts, etc. I also collect anything to do with fairies. Figurines, books, paintings and the like. I enjoy reading, music, bellydance and working out. I love animals and have several pets. I have been married to Dan for 22 years (he posts here once in a blue moon) and have a 19 year old son, Chris. :-) |

My name is Melissa and I've been on QZ since July of 2003. I am 31, married, and have two children. I am a social worker in an elementary school which proves to be interesting day after day. I live near Cincinnati, Ohio in the United States. I became a Queen fan after seeing Live at Wembley on a free concert channel. I did a search on Queen and QZ was the first hit and here I am! I visit QZ at least once a day unless I'm super busy and even then I usually make QZ time. :) |
Micrówave 21.11.2006 13:13 |
Hello all. My name is Jim and I reside in Dallas, Texas. I have been posting in one form or another for about four years here on Queenzone, although not actively posting until the last couple of years, mainly reading. I am a professional musician and have my free time during the day, so I mix in sleeping and the internet. I’ve played nearly every style, but tend to run whenever Country music rears it’s head. If you happened to watch this past weekend’s Colts/Cowboys game, you saw my band behind Jerry Jones on CBS after the game. Players, you can check further details on my personal website (not a myspace account!) link and let me know yours. I think this is a good forum, primarily for all the stuff I’ve learned about this band called Queen. Some pretty smart folks on here... But if you post stupid @#$!, I’m not afraid to tell you, as I hope you’ll do for me. I can take it… and so will you. |
Winter Land Man 21.11.2006 13:28 |
My name is Jake. I used to be a regular member until I was banned. So I took a few years off and became a new member and I've matured and become an adult during those few years off, and I don't post rediculous topics, fight, or spam anyone or any forums any longer. I'm from New Hampshire. I collect a lot of Queen albums, (studio/compiled/live), and Queen singles (Vinyl, Cassette, CD). Same as the solo albums and singles. I became a Queen fan in 1996, but I remember as child, hearing "Keep Yourself Alive" on the radio, and I enjoyed it but hadn't a clue about music. |
Killer Queenie 21.11.2006 13:28 |
My name is Jenna, I'm 14 and I live in England. I joined originally in October 2005 but I lost the web address and my account information and I later rejoined in about June this year. My originally screen name was *brianmay4eva* but I changed it to what it is now, but I'm concidering changing it again but I dunno what to yet! Anyways... I started listening to Queen when I was about six, but i didn't know about the band. I found out about them in about April 2005 and I have been hooked ever since. Anyways, welcome all new members and enjoy yourselves here xxx Jenna xxx |

Hellooooooooooooooooo all! I'm Tamara, 18, from California :D I joined QZ in....wait...I forgot :S.....I think it was February... O_o Anyways, I became a Queen fan at the beginning of this year (I've been missing out so much ;_;). Seeing as Thanksgiving is coming up, I'd like to say that I'm thankful for discovering the greatest band ever and for this wonderful site! I've made befriended some of the nicest people I've met thanks to QZ. :D |

KillerQueen840 21.11.2006 15:07 |
I think this thread is a great idea. I'm one of the many Jessicas here on queenzone. However, I prefer not to be cluttered into one group like that, so feel free to refrence me as KillerQueen840...I've been a member since Friday, July 2, 2004. I used to be addicted to this place and one of the more annoying kiddies, but I've grown up and don't post much anymore. I've honsetly lost most of my interest here, but every now and then there's some neat topics like this one. I'm from New England (go Patriots!) and love it here. I've been a Queen fan probably all of my life. My mum has a good collection of music and I used to love to listen to Radio Ga Ga when I was a tot. I didn't become obsessed with them until about five years ago. I love to read. I'm a big Stephen King fan and have read quite a few of his books, although there are a lot more of his I have left to read, including his latest one. Recently I've taken up a pretty big interest in criminal psychology and am busying myself with reading many books on the topic. I love psychology. I love nintendo. I love Alice Cooper. I love photography (I took the picture of the moon in my profile, I've got some much better nature pictures though). I love motorcycles, spicy food, cooking, coffee, werewolves, nature, and much more. I also love to write. As a matter of fact, once I start free writing such as in instances like this...I tend to ramble just as I'm doing now. So, I think I'll spare you all and cut it short here. |

Bon Jour/ Bon Soir (depending on when you're reading this) To everyone. Samantha's the name, classic rocks my game. Today's my 17th birthday and i'm a huge Queen fan since about 4 years ago. Although I had liked many of their songs from my youth when my parents would listen to the radio. I live in central New York and am a full time student in my final year of high school. (THANK GOD) I'm also a cashier at my local grocer. I joined QZ at the end of 2005 (i believe) and haven't been around much because of all the drama keeping me disinterested. I'm a collector of CD's, DVD's, Vinyls and 45's. As well as other QUEEN memorabilia. My second favorite group is the Beatles. The only current music I like is Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Radiohead. Although Outside of that, I'm stuck in 1979 and earlier. (Which I love) Love the Marx Bros and Monty Python. As well as black and white movies. Love the Turner classic movies. And I've always opted for the History channel over MTV. I'm absolutely excited for university next year and am addicted to learning, traveling, foriegn language, reading and music. My fingers when not glued to a book or keyboard are glued to my piano. I also enjoy singing and writing. Those are the basics. Rock on my fellow Queen fans, and I hope you can welcome me into the family to become as knowledgeable as the original fans who roam this board. Thanks for your time ya'll! ROCK ON \m/ |

As some of you may already know, my name is Dave and I originally come from Glasgow. I now stay in Ayrshire, Scotland. I have been a Queen fan since 1974 since the days of Seven Seas. Only seen them three times live, Glasgow Apollo 1979, Edinburgh Ingliston 1982 and Knebworth 1986. Started posting here in July 2001, though like most I used to visit the site a lot beforehand. Other bands I like include Iron Maiden, Status Quo, The Beatles (yes Im from the old school of rock music). At the moment I play guitar in a covers only band just for fun. I like books by Ben Elton (I have "Dead Famous", "The First Casualty" and a signed edition of "Chart Throb"). Another author I like is Sue Townsend ("The Queen And I" is my present fave from her). I also like biographies as well. |

I've made some good friends here and have even had the pleasure of meeting them in person. My biggest interests are mostly music, lesson planning, reading and my wonderful boyfriend Chris (he used to post here, but left quite a while ago...) |

Then Queenzone, the chatroom, what was beautiful. Oldies there already, eagle, Erin, Pieter, Ming, fresh ones, and a lot became real good friends in real life as well. Queen fan I became in 1974 when a friend took me to a concert of a btitish group, new and cool. I never got rid of it anymore. Music, computers, internet, writing, that's what I like to do. I am dutch, live now in Germany with the most wonderful girl on earth, yea, we met through Queenzone Oh, you can find me regurarily -away- in the queenchatroom and my real name is Hans. |

I proceeded to listen them to death and then spend my lunch money to order the "real" albums. I found this place when looking for pictures and I was impressed with the photo-galleries, and am very glad I found them - my stupid project would be less extensive without them. My only other nicknames were, "Kelley_FloridlyAudacious" which I changed to "The Audacity of Kelley" when I found that you could have spaces and not just the usual "_". My current name will probably never change, because I just don't care. Happy face. |

I'm Patty and I've been a member for a year or so. I'm obsessed with Freddie Mercury and Queen and most other classic rock bands. I play flute, clarinet, bass, guitar, piano, and I sing. I have a band and I'm going to be a rockstar when I get a little older. |

My name is Jim. I'm in my teens. Let's see, I've been a part of the Queenzone forums since about April of last year. I have been a Queen fan for about 5 years. Strangely enough, I officially discovered Queen through Wayne's World, after hearing the Boh Rhap. It was my favorite song ever! But now that I've heard it so many times and have more Queen songs to listen to, the Boh Rhap is no where near my favorite song. I discovered Queenzone when I was looking for music downloads. I think when I first came to Queenzone it still had that banner on top that said "Queenzone Needs Your Help." I have had MANY nicknames, but all of them have had Smitty in them, I can remember Smittygecko, Smitty_G, Smitty, SMITTY, and this current monstrocity of a name, I think I'll change it to normal letters... p.s. I also put my name in REALLY large print once... That was an adventure all of its own... p.p.s. I was also known as S_G. That was the start of the Black and Gold era. |

Im Sean, Im 28 and Im from Stoke on Trent in the Uk. Been a Queen fan since 1987 at the age of 9, strangely enough when I first heard Barcelona. Modest collector, have all Uk vynil, CDs, cassettes ect, fan club stuff, programmes, tickets, t shirts. First gig was the Freddie Tribute in 1992, seen Brian four times and Roger three times then QPR last year. Shook hands with Roger in 1999. I went to the same school as Robbie Williams, yes he can be an arrogant shit, but he does so much for where I come from that I will always defend the bloke to the hilt....he gets a hard time on here. As some of you may have seen from some of my previous threads, I have become a little dissolusioned as to the way QZ has become. It was at one point my homepage when I joined in 2001, now I hardly come here. Im in favour of moderation too! |

Nice idea Barb, and it doesn't even appear to have been hijacked yet! I'm Pete, I'm 26 and I live in Coventry with my wife Emma. I've been a queen fan for as long as I can remember, although getting my groove on to my mom's copy of Greatest Hits when I was three years old sticks out in my mind. I've been a member here since late 2004 when I was desperately searching to see if John "he is the Lord" Deacon would be involved in the Q+PR tour, so I'm still a relative newbie, although I do feel like an 'oldtimer' sometimes on here when I see the same topic for the 6000th time, or when I find myself admonishing people for using 'textspeak'! I have been told that I'm obsessed with queen, and I would agree to a certain extent. I don't think it would be so bad if I hadn't met my mate Chris (fat_buddino on here)at uni. He's the only person I've ever met who is into queen as much as I am. In our house in second year we had a wall which was purely a shrine to Deacy, and every year on the saturday closest to 24th November we spend the day listening to every album in order whilst getting wasted on beer and holding the annual 'King of Queen' championship trivia showdown. I've been robbed the past two years in a row, but this saturday, that medallion is mine!!!!! link |

Leigh - Age 24, live in St Albans, Herts although from Staffordshire. Joined here in 2000 I guess, was a serial poster until about 2003. Things happened, I changed a bit and don't really post anymore. The people who I want to know on here I still do, and those who I don't - I don't. Although I'm pretty crap at replying to emails and such stuff now and regret not keeping in touch with a few. I used to help out back in the day, now I just stop by once a week or so. |

I'm Andy, joined here early 2005 and never looked back since. I hardly go on here anymore, but i do post occasionally when i can be bothered. I'm originally from Gourock, Scotland but for the past year and a half i have lived in Stirling, as i'm now deep into my second year at studying History at the local University. |

Cezar - 18 - Bucharest, Romania. I joined QZ in June-July 2006 but I don't post very often. I'm more active on the hub! It's hard to keep up with everyone on QZ because most of you are british and american and you already know each-other very well. I'm a Queen fan since 2001 when I heard Bicycle race. 2001 is very late but Eastern Europe can't keep up with Western Europe and America :( |

Hmmmm....... the whole of QZ knowing my personal details... Well all you need to know is that I'm Tessa from Scotland and I'm 14. I've been a Queen obsessive for about a year and a half and a QZ obsessive for less than that. Recently I heard a 'Best of Bowie' CD-Loved it! Very recently, went to see the Rolling Stones live- ADORED it!! What a bunch of attractive, talented, skinny, ugly old men!!;)As for Queen I have started avidly collecting CDs and have considerably more than 'Greatest Hits' so, yeah... go me! I've just realised, couldn't all the new QZrs look at our profiles? |

My name is David, I'm 22, and I work as a Software Engineer. I live in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I've been posting on Queenzone since 2001 I think. Now I think of it, I've been on here through a year or two of school, through a four year university course, and now I'm still here as an old git working a 9-5 job. I'll never have the sense to leave, will I? Met all sorts of characters on here, and some really genuinely nice people, some I'm sorry to say I'm no longer in contact with. The board's a bit shit nowadays because I don't really know anyone - but fatty still makes the occasional post, as do Alli, Janet and Bob, so it's still worth the occasional peek. |

Hello! I'm Jaye, Dutch, 37, first saw Queen on t.v. (Toppop) in '74, went to only one Queenconcert (Leiden '86, been to Brian concerts in '93 - '98 and of course the memorable surprise-appearance of Roger and Brian in Amsterdam on Queensday 200ummm2 I think... and also to the "Queen" + PR concert 2005 in Rotterdam. As far as I'm concerned, that was the last time that I saw them. All about that has already been said and repeated, nevertheless I'm going to say something about it anyway -I've got nothing against Paul Rodgers but I prefer Freddie and it's obviously just not the same without him (and John). I think for a lot of us 'oldies' there's too much going on that we don't really like anymore. Personally, I really don't like musicals at all, let alone a musical that uses my fave songs...just can't stand it. I don't mind people liking it, loving it and seeing it for a dozen times, if they enjoy, then that's all fine with me of course. But everything's changed so much. Queen used to be a band with a (1) fanbase. There were fans who liked the rock songs better and fans that liked the quieter songs better, but everyone was on the same side. Today, there are several different groups, as if there are several bands called Queen. There's the musical, the Q + PR tour/dvd/cd, etc etc. You can't compare Queen today, to Queen before. Before I start to sound too bitter ;-)...I do like to see that younger people find their way to good music, that's great! Queen is still a part of my life, but I have moved on. I still listen to them now and then, Freddie is always an inspiration, brings a smile to my face. Or a tear, depending on the song and my mood, or what I might need at that moment ;-) So yes, they are still one of my fave bands, even though I hardly ever listen to them anymore. To who ever out there who actually read this whole posting : please get out of that chair and get yourself a nice drink, you deserve it! ;-) |

I'll just introduce myself a little more clearly then. I'm Thijs from Holland and I used to be known as the_hero. I've did some good things and bad things in the past which i would like to leave aside now as that was then and now is now. I'm a student in the College of Tourism and Leisure Managment. I play drums and write lyrics for some big bands and some starting bands. My passion for Queen started roughly 8 years ago when my close friend let me hear a tape of Queen II. I wasn't impressed at first, but when I bought Classic Queen and GH II I couldn't stop listening to it. My passion for Queen disappeared a year ago.. but it's getting back every once in a while. I'm 21 years old btw |
