I recently bought a copy of October's Classic Rock Magazine which celebrates what would have been Freddie Mercury's 60th birthday. What did you guys think of it? I thought the article was kind of small, but it had a lot of important artists explaining what Queen meant to them.
i saw it! i wanted to buy it soo bad. it was beautiful, they did a great job. i was tempted to rip out the pages for myself but that wouldve been mean to other queen fans who wanted it.
15 years next week :'(
^Yeah, it sure is sad that it has been 15 years since he died. I remember that last year (in the USA) it was Thanksgiving the day it was Freddie Mercury's 14th death aniversary. Everybody was happy and full of joy. And their I sat in the corner listening to Freddie Mercury with my portable CD player. This one kid asked me why I was so down in the dumps, I simply said Fredde died 14 years ago today. You know what he says to me? He says to me that he's giving thanks that he died. What a jerk...
I have this copy of Classic Rock as well. I like it but it just went over everything we've heard a thousand times befor. But it's good that a music mag remembers Freddie in a positive way like this. Classic Rock have done a few Queen specials since it started and I have them all. Very good as well some of them.
yes i have it too and it is fuckin' awesome...i also liked how other artists talked about there favorite Queen song...but i didnt like how Ian Anderson (singer for Jethro Tull), said that he didnt like Freddie's voice..you'd think someone of his stature would give Fred his dues...but whatever....and also the new issue of 'Record Collector' has Freddie on the cover and has a splended article about the new Solo stuff, written by everyone's hero....our very own Greg Brooks!
i bought it today :) its going on my wall when everyones done reading it haha
i love classic rock mag. they cover the legends and ones with potential, and write the truth and arent rolling stone :) haha
