Hi all,
Just saw Magic-A Kind of Queen, in concert in Glasgow on Tuesday. This was my first time seeing them and I went not expecting much as I normally dislike other people performing Queen songs, being a typical middle-aged long standing fan, but they really were fantastically good and I found myself really enjoying the show
They don't try to look like Queen clones and obviously the vocalist doesn't perform like Freddie but they put their heart and soul into producing a great show and their enthusiasm and love of the music really sweeps you up.
The musical performance was excellent and they performed a very wide range of songs, KYA, SSoR, Barcelona, Driven By You, Innuendo, TSMGO, and a FULL Bo-Rap along with many others.
The guys also do an ELO tribute show which would be worth seeing if their version of Mr Blue Sky during the encore is anything to go by.
If you haven't seen them and get the chance to do so, I would recommend it. Leave your preconceptions at the door and enjoy the show!
Cheers for now.
I've seen their webiste and they look pretty amazing. Pity I live in the US,i'd really like to see them do either Queen or ELO.
Maybe they could come up here to do some tours maybe?
