Always faster than the speed of light... :-) A newly compiled film by Rudi Dolezal and Hannes Rossacher (DoRo) about Queen in Budapest 1986/2005 was just aired here in Germany an hour ago this evening on a TV-Channel called 3Sat. The 45 minute feature which is titled "How We Won The East" includes footage from Queen´s 1986 and 2005 concerts in Budapest, backstage material, interviews with band members, Queen´s hungarian promoter and fans from 1986 and 2005. I recorded this directly onto my PC and encoded it to Mpeg1-format (1152 kbps) for sharing purposes. Running time is about 45 minutes... no commercial breaks ~ file size ca. 450 Mb As I´m already in some kind of pre-christmas mood, though we had 20 degrees celsius today... well, I thought I´d share it with you asap... ...so have fun & enjoy! ;-) PS: Though this is a DoRo-Production... this one is enjoyable!!! |

I saw it this evening. I think it is a good documentation with some insider information about the 1986 Budapest concert. |

there is NOTHING new in that documentary except for some additional comments from the local promoter. Mixture of Budapest 2005 (live in japan extra dvd) and the magic years 3 budapest parts + concert footage. thought i make it clear for the hard core group ;) ... another wasted opportunity to give us some interesting additional footage from 4 days of shooting in 1986... |

Nice. I have both Magic Years Laser Disc and Super Live in Japan but I'll download it either way. Thanks to the uploader. About the dubbing of everything in most european countries, well, I think that's too bad. Ok, maybe on TV series on local or regional channels but, come one, ON MOVIE THEATERS??! :O. I couldn't believe it back in 2002. I was in Paris around the time Episode 2 of Star Wars came out and I went through a lot of trouble finding a cinema with the movie on its original version. Here in Mexico we get 99% of the movies on their original versions in movie theaters. Only those for children are dubbed. On TV we have dubbed shows on local TV and subtitled ones on cable. Well... since there's not a lot to comment on the download, I thought I could mention that other thing, haha :). Thanks again to the uploader and a big HELLO to my good friend MIKLOS, with whom I haven't been in touch in a while. Nice to "see" you talking about your favorite subject: "QUEEN IN BUDAPEST" and the concert you refused to go, haha :D. I hope you're alright. See ya, Wiley |

They also dub all stuff in Hungary, it has a tradition here. If TV channels stopped dubbing and would put subtitles instead then ppl would be very mad :) Many ppl complain already because movies in cinema are mostly subtitled, about 10 years ago much more movies where dubbed also in cinema. Btw. isnt it better to hear everything on your own language instead of reading lines? |
willem-jan 8923 16.11.2006 06:32 |
Overdubbing is quite common in the US/UK as well I think (for non-english spoken parts of course). I hate to see Dutch speaking people on National Geographic/ Discovery channel etc. being overdubbed by English speaking persons and than subtitled in Dutch. |

Btw. isnt it better to hear everything on your own language instead of reading lines?no it's not. what it's better than hearing the original actor's voice?nothing. the actor is really THERE performing is role, you are hearing the original voice, the original emotion that the director intended for that particular scene of the movie. and of course i will not talk about seeing the actor's lips moving one way AND hearing a completly diferent thing... that's totally lame i'd bet that you never heard in your life the voices of the best actors in hollywood...well... the voices of ALL program's dubbed there. if they subtitle things it's for you're own good, why? first you learn how to read, you educate your own language, second you learn english as well,by matching the subtitle with what it's heard at the moment but even worst than that it's for example in Poland, where they keep the original language... with one, yes, ONE person translating the whole movie from the begining to the end. and it doesn't matter if it's an action scene,if it's a romantic scene...the voice stays the same tone-level through-out the entire movie ps: what i do if a DVD has the original language and a portuguese track? i hear the original |

poppy: dubs are also made by professional actors. And you wont really notice that the lip is moving differently than the sound unless you watch very closely, or unless the actor is speaking very slowly. And 1 more thing: if the movie is a comedy then with dub they can add extra jokes. It happened many times that i watched a comedy in hun and i laughed my ass off, then i watched it in original language and it just wasnt that funny simply because it missed a lot of jokes. A typical example for that is SouthPark: the vulgare vocabulary of hun is much richer than the original so it is just more funny. |
