I wonder, what the experts say to this: link TAU says, its an mpeg source, but if you look at the screenshots, they look more like a lossless file!! Nothing seems to be cut off above 16 KHz, in contratry is also screenshot Tau3. The 2 channel lines go straight up at 18 KHz, from -90 db to -65 db. Thats how lossles wav files look like. I can´t remember where I got it from, and I don´t have the exact lineage, but it should be somewhat like this: LP > Tape (uncut) > flac(uncut) > flac (cut-by me), maybe there were 2 or 3 tapes? Anyway, Sound is very good +, almost ex. 1. Procession 2. Father to son 3. Ogre Battle 4. Son and Daughter 5. Keep yourself alive 6. Seven seas of Rhye 7. Modern times Rock n Roll 8. Liar 9. Ballroom Blitz ( Sweet ! uuhhaaa brrr...) link link link Hope you like it. Frank |

Frank39 - thanks for your effort in looking after the best quality. I've seen results from Tau analyzer and its almost like the original wav file looks like. But ther is one big difference : above 12 kHz signal level is -85 dB and more. As far as I know in most audio systems it's the level of noise. So my conclusion is that this recording has no actual audio data in high frequencies (only noise) so the final quality is far away from master tape. Correct me if Im wrong. I'll hear how it sounds when I download it :) |

Thank you very much Frank... my cd copy was lossy (you can see the thread where Ginger uploaded it), and it's good you could upload this, and other stuff. Thank you very much. |
frank39 10.11.2006 10:15 |
Thanks for the info Shooter, I am no expert in frequency analysis, just got some basics. But you mentioned 1 important thing, the noise! Its really a very loud and brutal recording, listining to the original LP would surely proof it. |

This was probably meant to be a live album, but shelved. Think about it... the sides are about 20 minutes each, speeches have been edited, the mix is perfect, and there are vocal overdubs. Makes sense to me! Discuss. |
Rick 10.11.2006 12:40 |
It's a shame they never released this concert. I mean, even without overdubs it's still a great piece of rock 'n' roll-history. I love this era, because they really focused on their performing. The harmonies sound tight and they really rock, musically spoken. I still wonder how many of this concert was filmed. |
frank39 10.11.2006 12:55 |
Yes, and I wonder who here arround has a copy with more than those 2 songs, talkin about that 9 min Rainbow video. It makes no sense to think, they only filmed those two songs.I am sure, there is more....-:) |

Er, Sweet song officially released? We can't just choose whose copyright we're going to respect. Please re-post an amended set of files |

I know this is old discussion, but to me this is not an audience recording! It can be a generation copy of the master tapes, but even for today´s standarts (32 years later) you don´t get audience recordings like this one very often! Unless you guys know the person who recorded this, why does collectors say this is an audience recording? - Wich type of recorder you think was used here? Take care |

P.G. like Keith Richards says: you shouldn´t take it so hard. |

It's definitely from Rainbow 31/3 1974. It was filmed as well. Not sure if the entire show was filmed though. Or if it was ever aired in England... Here's a link where you can see a VERY cool clip from that show: link Ok, the quality isn't that good but Freddie is as cool as a barstool. /Adam S |
