Actually, I think it is. I'd say Bo Rhap is raw musical skills, while Stairway to Heaven is pure emotion.

No offense, but it took more of a musical genious to compose Bohemian Rhapsody. Yes, Stairway to Heaven is pure emotion (and its a fabulous song, don't get me wrong), but you can't tell me that Bohemian Rhapsody didn't have emotion. The very opening words and then the ballad were pure emotion. Freddie sang with so much passion and sadness that it could make any unhappy soul weep like crazy (I should know). The opera bit was just for fun, I guess that wouldn't count. However, the opera bit is what really makes this song a celebration. It was the let loose part of the song to keep you interested and excited. It was also a fantastic transition from the beautiful ballad to the hard driving rock part. But putting that aside the heavy metal bit of the song had Freddie singing in anger and frustration (which is a form of emotion) and then the end of the song is very tragic. So, I do agree that Stairway to Heaven has pure emotion and is a beautiful song, but I tend to side with Bohemian Rhapsody because of both the musical complexity and the emotion that it contained. It told a very dramatic story that can be taken in so many different ways. Don't get me wrong, I respect your opinion and I'm not trying to be a jerk. I just strongly feel that Bohemian Rhapsody is a stronger song and came straight from the composer's heart. Stairway to heaven when played backwards is about the opposite of what the song stands for. Its very interesting, but I can't help but think that the composer wasn't really thinking about the main story plot (as it were). Maybe the composer was more interested in making this hidden message to gain an exta dimension for the band. Just a thought... Anyway, both Queen and Led Zeppelin are magnificent bands with extroidinary songs. I respect both equally for their contribution to the rock world. Lovely speech Steve, but I suppose it all comes down to personal opinion. I mean, I wasn't saying Bo Rhap was lacking any emotion. What I should have said is that I think that Stairway to Heaven has this unique... atmosphere. But nevermind. If we continue this conversation people might think we're gay.
