My favourite tracks from the new Who album would have to be: Fragments, A Man In A Purple Dress, Mike Post Theme, In The Ether, Black Widows Eyes, Two Thousand Years, God Speaks of Marty Robbins, It's Not Enough, You Stand By Me, Sound Round, Pick Up The Peace, Unholy Trinity, Trilbys Piano, Endless Wire, Fragments of Fragments, We Got A Hit, They Made My Dream Come True, Mirror Door and Tea and Theatre. |

I agree with you 100%. Best Who album in 2,000 years! |

I quite enjoyed 'Stories From Cave Rock'...really good rock solo from Peter. Edit: Must get this albummmmm! |

This album just blew me out! I'm just.... I never doubted them, and I was right! Christ I'd write what I think about each track but I'm too tired. But.... wow. |
its_a_hard_life 26994 01.11.2006 12:38 |
I haven't heard it yet... Is it offically out in big retail shops like HMV and Virgin? As I haven't seen it there either... :-S |
Lester Burnham 01.11.2006 12:57 |
It just came out Monday in the UK, Tuesday in the US. I don't think they've ever really done proper acoustic songs, so 'Man In A Purple Dress', 'Marty Robbins', and 'You Stand By Me' are a pleasant surprise. My favorite favorite song is probably 'Tea & Theatre' - Roger's voice is amazing. Then again, I've been listening to 'Mike Post Theme' a lot... and 'Black Widow's Eyes'... and 'It's Not Enough'... and 'Endless Wire'.. and...... |
Smitty 01.11.2006 14:13 |
I have GOT to buy that album... |
john bodega 02.11.2006 00:39 |
Though I wasn't kidding when I said every track is my favourite, the stand out ones for me would be : Mike Post Theme, which just kicks arse on every level. Trilby's Piano ; I have a hard time believing that anything this beautiful comes from a guy who pushed Abbie Hoffman off a stage.... then again, he did write Love Reign O'er Me... And I can't speak highly enough of Tea and Theatre. Townshend himself said the subject matter has nothing really to do with Keith or John, but they were all I could think of when I heard it! Absolutely brilliant track, that one... funny enough I think its the sort of music John Lennon might be doing if he weren't in an ashtray. Special mention to Sound Round, for having a very classic Who feel to it.... but FUCK it's too short. |

You Stand By Me is a great song!!!! :) I bought the album today, finally. I love it. :D |

I'm starting to collect every damn thing by The Who now. I adore them. So ofcourse this must be added to my collection. :) |
Lester Burnham 26.11.2006 14:18 |
Just saw them again last night. Great concert, even better than when I saw them in September. The Endless Wire stuff really sounded great, and they threw in 'Mike Post Theme', which is my favorite track from the album, along with the remaining eighteen. |

Supposedly they are coming to Australia! Yay! |
john bodega 27.11.2006 02:20 |
Do they mean the half part of Australia that would've been fortified if Japan had invaded in WWII, or the whole actual country itself (including that deserty bit on the west coast where I live). I'd sell my kidneys to see those guys, every live video I've seen of them lately (from this tour) is pretty awesome. |
iGSM 27.11.2006 04:41 |
I love Western Australia...so easy to murder someone and hide the body in our vast, Vast, VAST desert. I'm going based on this - link Seems to be fairly accurate..and shit. Worrrrd. |

I'm going to buy a Keith Moon biography soon... It's called, "Dear Boy: The Life Of Keith Moon" By Tony Fletcher. I heard it tells nearly everything you want to know about his personal/career life. I read a chapter on the net and I didn't know he had a daughter called Mandy!!!! Awwwww.... :D Check it out people, I'm totally buying it. |

YES... I found the biography book on Ebay... YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS. It's also VERY cheap. I feel blessed, or just lucky. All I have to do is win the bid and it's MINEEEEEEEEEE. ALL MINE. :) The stories I hear about Keith is hilarious!!! |
The Real Wizard 29.11.2006 22:44 |
The new Who album is fantastic! I think it's their best album since Quadrophenia. But I was really disappointed with the DVD that came with it. Daltrey can't nail the high notes anymore, and the vocal harmonies with Townshend sounded awful! I'm really surprised they released this, even though it was obviously meant as a reason to get a few more sales on the new material. Still, I'm seeing The Who next Monday, and I'm really looking forward to it. They're one of those bands you just have to see. |
Lester Burnham 29.11.2006 23:38 |
I too was disappointed in the DVD, but I think Daltrey had a throat infection at the time and, well, I don't know what Townshend's problem was. But anyway, I agree they shouldn't have released the DVD. You won't be disappointed on Monday, Bob, I promise you that! |
john bodega 30.11.2006 07:54 |
Meh, depends on the show... I've seen some corkers lately that to me, indicate Daltrey can still do it! Just.... yeah, I wonder why they'd pick a less-good show to release though? |

Actually, I can't think of a terrible song off the album. Even 'Fragments Of Fragments' and 'Trilby's Piano' are ace. And I've had the Moon biography for years ;) It's a wonderful read. Lester Burnham wrote: You won't be disappointed on Monday, Bob, I promise you that! They were bloody fantastic! Daltrey's range isn't what it once was, but he was dripping with passion. Townshend was the man. They played about half of the new album, and a good assortment of old. They encored with a nice medley of stuff from Tommy, and then Tea & Theatre, which seemed symbolic of the fact that this will probably be their last tour. Very nice touch to close the show. I'm a bit disappointed that they didn't play anything from Quadrophenia, which is my favourite Who album... but I guess Daltrey's voice can't do it anymore. It was still an awesome show, and I'm happy to be able to say I saw The Who. |

I actually really dig their jam of "Since I Saw Her Standing There". I suppose it was left outta the movie for obvious reasons (the other song they did was funnier). But still, funny to hear them do a Beatles number. Hehe. |
