Who are these people who post in immediately saying you can't post this here - this is a bit of fun, stop trying to act as if it's yours. There's tonnes of sites where you can get free queen stuff, so why butt in every time someone pposts something that breakes the "rules". So childish. |
Penetration_Guru 31.10.2006 12:32 |
Oh dear. I expect when sites get closed down, you just shrug your shoulders and move on to leech off the next site, always assuming there will be another. The owner of this site has decided (as is his right) that in order to not come into conflict with the publishers of copyrighted works, he will have a rule that nothing officially released shall be shared. YOU accept that rule by using this site, and are therefore yourself childish for not going along with the rules that you have implicitly accepted by coming here. Furthermore, some amongst us still cling to the notion that this is a good site that we would not like to see closed down, and so we take it upon ourselves to do everything we can to ensure that the wishes of the site owner are respected. If you want to complain about the existence of copyright law, I suggest you raise it with your local law makers (as opposed to law enforcers). Do you see the distinction? |

I know what you mean,it sounds too exagerated sometimes, they are not going to close the site in one second after you post an official track, but they DID close sites in fact and as I(and many others)got many songs, boots and info here for years that would be really a disaster,I recall Mr Scully's site(the previous one not the actual)that was closed for uploading Freddie Mercury concert in Nov 2001,without permission in 2002,so imaging nowadays that the f**** RIAA are searching and "hunting" everyone. |

I think this site is actually a good site, far better than the official site. I take it that when u say i agreed to the terms and conditions, i note u didn't say they are in small print, note the distinction. Since i don't post any illegal material on this site, i suggest i don't need to check anything with my local law makers. You're barking up the wrong tree, assaulting me with such a threatening reply. |

You should understand and respect the fact that the owner of this site made this available, at no expense to us members, so that we may share unofficial audio, videos, etc. No one should compare this to other site that do share official releases and seem to get away with this. It's the owner's right to make make his rules and enforce it. If you want to share official stuff. Go to those other sites then. The people who tell others not to post official files here are the ones who care about this site and respect Richard. |

The majority of those who bitch about rarer "official" stuff such as vinyl-only tracks do so not to protect the site, but because they spent a lot of money to get such tracks and don't want others getting them for free. It's sad but there are those who are in it more for greed and the feeling of wanting to have things that others can't get for whatever reason. Makes them feel superior, or so they think. Yet if you notice they seem like the bitchiest, most unhappy people. Then there are those such as myself who enjoy being able to share and discuss Queen music mutually with those who appreciate such things as being able to hear a nice b-side or rare single-country vinyl-only remix of something which can be impossible to find or afford otherwise. I try to only bitch about official stuff if it's really easily available. I agree however that it's better for all involved if "we" don't share the stuff publically. Rather it seems common that if you can't find something, you can post a request and still get bitched at but end up receiving it via email anyway, if you're smart enough to leave your address visible :) |

You're barking up the wrong tree, assaulting me with such a threatening reply. The only assault is yours upon the English language. I didn't suggest you HAD posted illegal material, but your original point was "hey, why so worried about illegal uploads", so it seemed like a valid subject. Judging by your responses it seems more likely that you posted a random selection of words that only made sense by pure chance. I'm not sure what my failure to specify any size of print in any conditions actually indicates. It certainly creates no distinction, as there is nothing in your sentence for it to be distinct FROM. OK, that's a couple of well constructed sentences to redress the balance. una, you're a WUM, and I will not rise to your bait any further. No doubt others will. Have fun. |

The only assault is yours upon the English language. Please it's spelt Okay not Ok. If you're getting all defensive that's not my problem. Seek help in your local area. We don't want to hear your problems on this site. Yes, my english is superb if I want it to be, but this site isn't an english language competition - I like to be flexible, not rigid and boring like u!! You responded because I framed my english in such a way that annoyed you. That feels so good. Now anyone else agree with me...of course, why shud i even ask....oh and yes i am a WUM....err whatever that means...doubt it's english. |

The people that you call the QZ police (I recon I am one of them) are long-serving members here that are also personal accuintances of the owner and/or 'mother' of the website. We are here to keep an eye out for abusive language, trolls and indeed the uploading of material that is not allowed in here. On THAT matter: ONCE again and for all: *rules are that NOTHING THAT HAS EVER BEEN OFFICIALLY RELEASED ANYWHERE IS ALLOWED TO BE UPLOADED HERE.* It has nothing to do with any of the things you mention. It has nothing to do with traders, it has nothing to do with people not granting others to hear stuff. It is a legal matter. Queenzone's owner has decided this BECAUSE it is policy of Queen Productions. Now if you do not understand that, that what you have been called by Penetration Guru (yes, he is one of The Elder as well) is indeed you. We 'butt in', as you call it, because it has been decided that, no matter what others may do, DO oblige the law and rules set by the copyrightholders (Queen Productions). A little note: they have shut down websites for A LOT less in the past! If you do not agree you can either just go to another website that DOES allow illegal activity and/or complain to Queen Productions. But not in here. |

jeroen, PG et al – you are absolutely right, of course. It's exactly my opinion. But you must admit that defining what's official and what's not is very hard with Queen stuff. The release of those infamous "Top 100 bootlegs" by QP/EMI made everything very complex. Recently I had big problems at another site with stuff that was shared here without problems repeatedly. Queenzone in fact is very liberal with the stuff that's shared here – in terms of copyright as well as in terms of sound quality, lineage info or source info. We should all be content with what we have here and try to preserve it as long as it's possible. I'd be surprised if it stayed the way it is now. QP have their eyes on this site, that's for sure. And they don't like everything they see. Oh, and please excuse my spelling and grammar, I'm no native English speaker ;-) Bye, Nummer2 |

Richard had no problems with me sharing that show here because he felt that the release of those Bootlegs were meant to deter bootleggers from making money on those recordings. Since QZ doesn't profit from the shows, there is no issue with sharing them here. |
