The full story is in my blog entry, but I'll write it here as well.
On the 16th August 2006 at about 1:25pm me and my friend were walking down the main road when 3 boys on bike rode up to us on bikes. They demanded my friend to hand over money. She said no. Then the boy said to one of his friends:
"Oi Jamie, get the knife"
We ran to the shops and rang my friends mum. Sha picked us up and called the police.
Today at 9am the police called and asked if I would be willing to make a statement in court, I said yes but I am vey doubtful ad to whether I have done the right thing.
I'm sorry if this sound rude but I would be greatful for everyons support.
Thanks again xxx

Well it turns out these boys didn't just try and rob us, they did a few other people. Another person they did actually knew them, and she reported them to the police, but now she has dropped out because she doen't want the bother of going to court, so it's up to me and my friend to take these boys up. God please help me, I have to go to the police station on Monday at 10am!!!
...HELP!!!!

i know that you will get justice. i will also pray for you. :) you did the right thing. if you hadn't spoken up about it, those crooks would still be on the loose, robbing others as well.

Why are you and these people so afraid of testifying?
Is it because the kids were members of a gang and they might quite possibly seek revenge?
Good for you! Stay strong! It's up to you to make sure these guys don't do it again. I mean, think about what might happen if you don't testify, they try this again and actually kill someone! Could you live with that, knowing that you could have stopped them?
Go to court, and get them!
One night at my work, which is McDonalds, just so you know, i was in the drive through. It was my 4th shift by the way, and the sound which tells us a car is coming through went off. So i went to the booth but instead of a car coming through, it was a man with a stocking over his head. He demanded the money and showed me the gun he had tucked into his pants (which i later found out was real). So i followed procedure, handed him the money and went straight to my manager. Anyway, police came and i was taken to the station to give a statement. I was there til about 1.30am. Long night.
So wot i'm trying to say is that the police make it very easy for you, and by the sounds of it they just need you to say what happened and that'll be it. You'll be ok, trust me.
The guy who robbed me pleaded guilty so i wasn't needed in court so i can't relate what ur going thru but just relax, you'll be alrite. If you need any sort of councilling, take it. It does help. they give you ways to deal with stress and what not. Good luck hon:-)
BTW for those of you who care, the guy who robbed me was my best friend in yr5-6! what a small world

Yes you are definitely doing the right thing, I can see why you're scared but trust me when I say this in fact, is not an episode of The Bill and you'll be alright. Well done Jenna!
