Hey POW WOW, you got me bang to rights. >>> Book not selling well Greg..............all this self promotion <<< You are totally on the ball Mr Pow Wow. All this chat about my book - much of it from my good self - only goes to increase sales of QUEEN LIVE: A CONCERT DOCUMENTARY (published by Omnibus Press and available at all good book shops, and now in its new and revised form with a brand new Intro by BRIAN MAY). Errors Shmerrors!!! As long as it sells I'm laughing all the way to the piggy bank. Do you know that in the past 6 weeks, the book has sold an inexplicable 842 copies? Thats more than 100 per week. Because the book emerged 10 years ago now, both myself and the publisher are staggered to see that it still sells anything behond the normal 100 copies per month all this time later. And then suddenly, WALLOP!, out of the blue, 842 additional sales. We cannot account for this strange and much welcome phenomenon, but I can tell you that it equates DIRECTLY to all the chat on QZ - good and bad. Coincodence? I don't know. It's true... ANY publicity (good or bad) is great publicity. Even QZ publicity is great. I'm not complaining. I'm only inciting comment and reaction, and my God I've been getting it. Keep it coming everyone. Bad reviews, great ones. I don't care. Another 800 sales will pay for a nice holiday, ta very much. |

This is another of your waste of time pranks. I'm waiting to see it all fall apart and all the people who are wasting their time suddenly getting angry with you again. |

"Keep it coming everyone. Bad reviews, great ones. I don't care. Another 800 sales will pay for a nice holiday, ta very much". And maybe give you the budget to do a revised edition again ;-) Greg, before the usual insults start let me get this in... I have no problem with your first book, it was good for it's time, I think I still have a copy somewhere, likewise I love the Freddie box set great job, nice collection, I am a proud owner and look forward to someday getting the Queen version. The new Freddie book, don't have it, not planning to, no idea what it's like. However, your second edition of the Live book is the one I think lets you down, if as you say you are getting a sudden influx of sales, put the money into doing it right next time and amending the errors. PS your moaning in the other threads about why everyone picks on you simply stems from the way you act and have acted on this site, simple as that, people treat you the way you treat others, it's not rocket science and I think I mentioned before that if you wanted respect as you seem to then you have to treat others with it. The amount of crap you bring here and fights you get into are all a direct result of your behaviour... live with it or change the way you speak to people. |

Greg - you can paypal the commission to Richard at Queenzone.com :) |

That's more like it Greg! Decent sarcasm with more than a hint of truth to it. I do like the way you start a new thread with the drop of hat just to keep you visible - your pitch is the same a cold caller, make enough noise and someone takes the bait :-) Not so sure about my name up in lights though. Right, I'm off the pub and then on to watch Liverpool toil again. Cheers Steven |

Hey Greg, I have an idea.. call me crazy.. you won't be the first.. in fact ... well.. nevermind.. but the idea is, since the publishers won't update the book, perhaps you can provide the updated info via PDF from a website where ppl have to pay for it.. again, it's just an idea. |
Queen Archivist 25.10.2006 19:45 |
Mike Preston.... Interesting idea. But I just want the actual book to be right. I'm not too bothered about some internet download thing. I love books; the tactile experience of holding in my hands a book, and the smell of paper, etc - the whole thing. I like the idea of a book passing through many hands through the years... like HG Wells' novels have this past 140 years. This cannot happen with downloadable text. Such a thing sounds cold and clinical and not very booky. But thanks for the original concept. I will ponder it. |

LOL as you know Queen fans will buy anything. ;-) Ok.. maybe that isn't the right idea, but I do understand what you are saying, I hate reading PDFs because I want to hold the actual copy and flip pages and whatnot.. Good luck with whatever you wind up doing.. :) |

I love the tactile experience of all that photocopied paper actually, it's quite nice. |

Zebonka12... So you'll love me for scanning a copy of your book from the local library and printing it out. I love the tactile experience of all that photocopied paper actually, it's quite nice GB: Fine by me chummer. As long as you're showing interest in the book in some form, any form, that's good and healthy. Remember what I said; all publicity is good publicity. Thanks Zeb. **** Sir GH... Wow... If only everyone who bought your book could read this, you would have zero respect from anyone. GB: Oh stop it! You’ll have me in tears. I won’t sleep tonight thinking of all those poor people. Losing the respect of Queenzoners!!! Oh no. I can't bear it. Tell me it isn't so. **** YV... Greg - you can paypal the commission to Richard at Queenzone.com :) GB: Errrr.... Hmmmm??? No. I think not. I rather fancy The Gallapogos Islands next year, even though I can't spell it. Giant tortoises or Queenzone? It's the shelled beauties every time. I'll send Richard a postcard though. |

Hey Donna13.... He doesn't seem to laughing much lately I've noticed. He spends most of his time insulting perfectly nice and decent people here on Queen Zone. This is the psychology of the guilty, now-caught GB: Don't be silly. I wrote a very respectful and informative response to you thread the other day. You made a fair point and I addressed it. That's not insulting, is it? Come on now, don't be a misery guts. Cheer up. I spend a lot of time laughing. I work with some extremely funny people... Pete Malandrone, Justin Shirley-Smith, Kris, Sara, Brian's gardners (oh yes!) and Brian when he's about. My books are selling fine (helped greatly by publicity on QZ, and a publisher wants to publish some of my children's stories next year). What have I got to be sullen about? Donna... I am a very happy chappy at this moment. Life is great and things are looking good for 2007... a book with Brian, not least. I rather like that man, you know, and to work with him gives one a fixed smile. Me unhappy and not laughing much? You have me confused with someone else. It might be true that I insult people, but the "perfectly nice" bit is debatable. I only have a pop back at those who attack me first, and YOU know it... you should do anyway. It is VERY difficult to be miserable, and not to laugh a lot, doing my particular job, I assure you of this 150%. Now then.... be nice. God bless you and all that. |

"GB: Errrr.... Hmmmm??? No. I think not. I rather fancy The Gallapogos Islands next year, even though I can't spell it". Looks like we might have that face to face yet Greg ol boy, my plans also include a trip there in 07... Imagine flying all that way only to round a corner and see Greg sitting on a tortoise! is there no hiding place? |
Queen Archivist 26.10.2006 09:11 |
You can't be all bad after all, Mr Togg. Is there anything more impressive, or more moving (all be it quite slowly) than those giant 150 year-old tortoises on G.I.????? |
Togg 26.10.2006 09:22 |
No, you are right I do intend to go shortly, I just have to also resolve the issue of will my visit have a negative impact on the environment as hundreds more tourists arrive each year. Difficult question... I long to see it in real life, however I know my going there will help albeit slowly to bring down its delicate balance. |
