GAH!
Why must schools today suck donkey balls.
Theyre making us colour in high school! WHAT THE FUCK IS THE POINT! Should they not be focusing on the written content, not how bloody pretty something looks. Unless your in visual arts, which this project isnt.
Religion in high school is a bunch of bullshit that I wish I could refuse.
Bloody school board fools.

Does the teacher care if it's "pretty" ?
Like ... what is it ?
I've learned - and I'm in 12th grade (last year of HS, as in the 14-18 year old school) - that you don't have to be the best artist in these class things. I usually use about 1/16 of what I could do and the teacher is happy !

Mm, it's a "bible poster" youre basically assigned a book in the bible and then given a bunch of questions to answer about it. and yes she cares about it being pretty. stupid dumbass.

Do you go to a religion-based school ? Because we would NEVER be allowed to do that at my school. Unless maybe it was an elective class or something, I don't know.
Most teachers will understand if you're "not an artist", too. I don't know if you are, but that's not the point. :) Just so long as it's neat, they're usually happy.

er, yah, I go to a catholic school. not because I want to though. Bah. It's not that I cant colour its that its completely redundant, ridiculous, and pointless and a complete waste of my time for me to colour anything. They can go suck rat penis for all I care about that.
i'd have to agree with you on the whole... high school sucks part, but... having religion for a subject isn't a bad thing. it really depends though. if you're catholic and you want to live your faith, that's probably the best subject to be in. take it from me, i study in an all girls school with teachers who are opus dei. so, yeah. religion is a big thing in our school. :) but then, that's your opinion. i can't do anything to sway it. :D
I think there is a minor difference between USA's definition of "High School" and the UK's...
High School in the UK starts at about year 7 (ages 11-12). You can go to college at about 16 or so. After college you can go to University.
In the USA, High School usually refers to grades 9-12 (and ages 14-18-ish, though you ca "Drop out" at age 16). After this, you can go to college which is what people in the UK call University (and so do people in the USA, but not always).
So me - 17, if I were in the UK, would be in "College", if I were in the USA, I would be in "High School".
I agree with you about the coloring thing. If it's not art class, art shouldn't be involved.
This is the discussion we've been having in my house. My daughter is 11 and in her first year of middle school. This month alone, she was given 5 'projects' - not one subject is art. Yet each of the projects requires a hand-drawn image or a 3D model of some sort. Why? This kid can research and write. Isn't that what's important here? But can she draw? Be artistic? No way. She admits it herself. And yet, part of the grade for these projects depends on the craft or picture these kids create. Not only has it added even more stress to this kid (and me) but 'art' and creativity are so subjective that I cannot imagine how the grades can possibly be fair.
Unless, of course, my kid gets 100%.
But still... I feel your pain. And I agree.
My fifth grade teacher required us to make all sorts of ridiculous crap that had nothing to do with the subject or project... we had to make a miniature "throne" that reflected our personality, a "BCR" rubric that had to look like a 3D latter... a scale model of a BRIDGE for math class... uggh... I'm surprised I passed 5th grade...
