Hm, ok, nice footage. I see Freddie and Jim Hutton and Thor Arnold and whoever else. But what's with all that stuff being leaked lately? Just like this link as well. All those private videos, like Freddie playing with Mary's son. He couldn't know back then that there would ever be such a thing as "the internet", where those videos can be seen be thousands of people in a day. Who is leaking all that? People who sneak into Jim's or Phoebe's circle of friends and then abuse the trust? John S Stuart, Sir GH and all you collectors: I'm not saying you are doing this, but if you notice these things being leaked by collectors and traders, maybe you can do something to make this stop? I'd appreciate it, even though I'm just a small voice on this. Jan |

This video footage also depents on the documentary Magic Remixed. I suppose it is a home made video, perhaps made by one of the insiders in garden lodge and not somebody who has sneakend in the garden.. Excuses for my English I can't write it very well. |

Hi TRS, I'm not trying to start an argument on this. I guess it is much about Queenzone being a space to express an opinion, might it be mine or other unpleasant one's from let's say Queen Archivist. My point is that we all appreciate and love this band and the music. And we are fans and we enjoy occasional glimpses of their private lives. I enjoyed Mercury and Me for that reason and Phoebe's book too. I'm not sure if that was crossing the line already. But private videos are a different level to me. Especially because Freddie was always very protective with his privacy and the people in it. I understand where you come from, the fan's point of view, and the wish to see as much of your favourite star as you possibly can. A part of me feels the same. But the even bigger part feels that I shouldn't. Simply because it wasn't intended to be released in the first place. My first reaction was probably too much. But I still think we should leave them some privacy, even when they're dead already. There's no point peeping through their keyholes, that's really a lower level of fandom to me. A lack of respect as such. I'd want the same for myself, if I was in that position. But I didn't want to offend anyone. I mean, people who read the Sun or similar tabloids, are not necessarily bad persons. Jan |

Jan78, I completely agree with your post. But I don't blame TRS for sharing it. I blame whoever was stupid enough to give him the video in the first place. They are the one who is backstabbing Freddie, not TRS. All he did was make a few mouse clicks. As I've said here before, I think Phoebe and Jim have horribly stabbed Freddie in the back by releasing their books as well. Those are simply cash-grabs. Do you think those books would have come out if Freddie was still alive? Obviously not. |

Oh dear. A lot of drama over nothing. No harm has been done to Freddie. Jim and Phoebie were not back stabbers ... Paul Prenter on the other hand ... |

Drama over nothing? Wait until one of your very close friends shoots a video of you in a private situation and puts it up on the internet. But hey, maybe you even like the idea and it turns you on? |

This kind of stuff routinely shows up in documentaries anyway. Some people just like to have something to bitch about. What harm could possibly come to Freddie for fans being able to get a glimpse of his private life? Stop being so fucking bitchy and appointing yourselves guardian of Freddie's dignity. If one fan has access to this shit, then we all might as well. *sigh* Edit: Incidently, Freddie is dead. Edit 2: I apologize for being so harsh. I just kinda feel that Freddie was aware when he was being taped by and with friends he trusted and if they later choose to leak such material then blame them, not fans for spreading stuff they justifiably think other fans might have an interest in. Or even better, assume that they chose what to share and used their judgement about it. Freddie holding a baby or being silly and singing in the tub or whatever else.. I really don't think this stuff constitutes embarrassing or degrading someone who is no longer with us. If we were talking about some sort of sexual acts or other intensely private stuff, arguments, etc. fine.. but the stuff I've seen just isn't like that. |

I generally agree with you Bubbles, but in the case of Freddie, he was a shy person who didn't talk to many people, and he wanted his private life to remain completely private. Suppose Jim or whoever wanted to give out this private video in 1991. Do you think Freddie would have allowed it? Absolutely not. He probably would have thrown them out of his home and would never want to see them again, especially considering the state he was in at the time. All these things obviously were to come well after his death. His friends know very well that Freddie wanted people to respect his privacy. But they saw dollar signs in their eyes when they realized they could tell stories that nobody had told before, and since Freddie isn't here to speak his opinion anymore, they could do as they wished. I see Jim's book as being an anti-Mary rhetoric, as he is bitter about getting next to nothing from the will. I'm sure Freddie would have been horribly upset if Jim had chosen to publically speak about Mary like this while he was still alive, will or no will. |

They filmed Freddie's LAST Christmas. That's a very special moment. The man had already one foot in his grave. He was sick, very sick. Such memories should never leak, in any form. This shows how his 'friends' had really NO respect. Blame Jim Hutton. He is the one who caused this. |

I just wanna say dont blame the fans who find this stuff and want to spread it, dont get mad at them. You know you would do the same thing if you found a vid like that. You would get all excited and hop on youtube and just be like LOOK WHAT I HAVE!!! Like bubbles said, its not like he's doing anything incredibly private, its not like he's having a blood transfusion, and its not like its a sex tape or anything, like that..it's just some cute moments. Im sure freddie doesnt give a shit about a video of him showing Logan Mews to a few people. Ok, lets go over the list of videos out there: the bath one the thing in like '87 when he's laughing with his friends in the kitchen over something that oen of him signing autgraphs baby video one of him in the garden all in all, the "worst" so to speak one is freddie being silly in the bath, and there are so many bubbles its a wonder you can see his face.. And as for the comment of somebody puttting a video up of ME, well, i've done that, and no harm no foul. There is an incredibly silly video of me and my friends dancing like we're on crack on my myspace (hahaha, its the best) and it is a "private moment" but that doesnt mean I dont wanna share it, i just think its funny. I realise that its a differant situation with freddie and his friends, and Im not totally thrilled that theyre out there, but dont get SO excited about it....and if you're so damn pissed at Jim Hutton then tell him yourself somehow, dont peddel your shit on a freaken message board...we all know lots of fans arnt exactly thrilled with stuff Jim Hutton has said bit stop griping about, yeach. We know your opinion, stop rubbing it in. |

I've read that when Freddie was doing video shoots, if things weren't going well, he could make things very unpleasant. But if things were clicking along, he was so funny to be around, people's sides and stomachs would ache from laughing so much. I wish there were some tapes of that. |
