Freddie's #1 Fan Forever 30.09.2006 18:31 |
Hi Fans, Since I'm from the US, I had to drive into Denver to get the new "Record Collector." It was a pain in the ass having to drive that far (45 mintutes), but I listened to Queen on the way. Now I am glad that I got it, since Freddie is on the cover. However, I was disappointed to find that the October "Classic Rock" is not in yet! I guess that I will have to make another trip next week. Man, it can suck being a Queen fan in the US! Are the rest of you American fans as fed up as I am of having to drive all over the place and having to order things from England? |

Huh... ? Sure, I walked my ass a copious number of miles to get to the book store to see if they had the desired Queen CD's in their A-51 warehouse, but I'm not complaining. I mean... I'm fairly certain that people in more remote parts of the world have trouble getting Queen stuff AT ALL. |

As a fan, I consider it a happy and necessary "annoyance." You do what you gotta do! :) |

Grr... anyway, I have to order everything from England or somewhere else, and that sucks to you know. I wouldn't be complaining if I had to drive only 45 minutes to get something like that. |

Driving 45 mins isn't that much out of your way! You should at least be glad they carry what you were looking for. I'm also from the US and I have no problem finding Queen items. I live 45 mins away from Disney and I find it a pleasure driving to Downtown Disney to Virgin Records, knowing I'll always find what ever Queen item I'm looking for. If they don't have it, there is always the internet! |

think of it this way: you don't live in a remote island far, far away from england or even the US, and there is no queen merch in your country at all. fortunately, this is my situation. :| so please, you're lucky enough to be living in a country with queen merch. stop complaining. |

All they ever have at Borders and best buy are Stone Cold Classics and the occasional A Night at the Opera or Live at wembley. But there's Amazon :) |

Ok, I live in canada, and I have seen every official release of Queen at least once, and a bunch times more of LOTS of stuff. Im a fairly recent I have GVH 1 and 2, Making of ANATO, Live At Wembley, Live At The Bowl, We Will Rock You,... every album accept the live ones, Queen II, Flash, and The Works, which I will buy when I have cash. I dont happen to have The Freddie Mercury Tribute DVD, or ROTC, but I have seen it in every record shop I go to. I will also buy when I have cash, lol. QPR came to my city. I've seen loads of Queen vinyl, posters, shirts, etc.... So, just because I dont have a stupid magazine article, am I going to complain? No. I can just use this wonderous thing called the internet and order anytihng I direly want. Now I dont know how different merchendise is from the States, but if its anything like we have in Canada, then, dont complain You guys had a WWRY in vegas, and it flopped because...well, use whatever reasoning you want. Im thankful that in march I am getting WWRY here. I dont live at all far from the theatre it will be shown at. Am I going to complain it will have taken 6 years to get here? NO! I'll just be happy that it HAS come. |

Sure all these collections are rubbish - i'm sure the states and australia have all theri studio albums and live at wembley? IF not it sucks but not many shops in england have queen stuff beyond the albums either - its like that for most bands |

Well I live in England and at least you don't get programmes about Freddie like that 'Freddie Loves' one where sum annoying man saying how Killer Queen was written about him cos Freddie sed 'I'm the Queen and you're killing me' to him. And all they talk about was how 'big' he was lol And how his teeth sumtyms got in the way of kissing that was sed by 'Killer Queen'. Trust me your lucky. :P |

I know, we never get any of the things that people are always talking about on tv and radio. There's hardly any albums either. Plus we never get to see them live. I usually have to order anything I want to buy. I feel even worse for the countries who have NOTHING. I mean at least there might be 2 or if we're lucky 3 albums in a store...I'd love to visit England some day. |

I think being stuck in the middle of the Australian outback sucks, where I travelled eight or nine hours for something I was almost positive that I could get, and they didn't even have it ANYWHERE in Brisbane. All I got was two Queen badges. Mind you I'm not complaining baout them because they look soo much better than the Revive badge I have (revive are a pretty cool band - christian though, but apparently I am a christian, being baptised and all) AND all I get around here is either greatest hits 1 or greatest hits 3, nothing else Queen could be found for millions of miles... I have to travel about twenty minutes just to get into town. But my village is awesome. Freddie would've loved it because it is quite pretty...at times. |
AmeriQueen 17.10.2006 23:27 |
I feel your pain! It sucked ass when I was waiting extra weeks for the U.S. release of 'Live at the Bowl'. It sucks that Queen didn't come to Texas out of limitation of venues due to poor taste of concert goers. We embraced the Beatles, the Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin. We just didn't give Queen the same respect. |

If the internet is hard for you... Which I don't really see how that would be... Then your missing out on alot. Can anyone have an explaination to why the UK get more Queen music then the US fans? I mean, I would try but I don't want to be the one who causes offence/fights. :S |

Actually... I go to smaller "record stores" all the time. I hardly ever see anything Queen there - only Greatest Hits and A Night at the Opera. I did get Hot Space from one, though - but I've never seen anything else since. There may be Queen VINYLS there, but I don't know since, as I have no working record player and am not a collector, I am not in the market for them. BUT - I have found a GREAT selection of Queen-on-the-Shelves at... BEST BUY. They even have Queen and Queen II ! I was really surprised (since I hardly go in there). Most of my stuff has been ordered from the local book store - taking about two weeks to get here and they're no even sure they can get it. But I'm not complaining since they've all gotten here (though Made in Heaven had a broken cover, which I replaced). |
Queenluv4Life 20.10.2006 15:38 |
it does suck to be a Queen fan in the US! Well i go to a cd store where i find some Queen cds but i cant find t-shirts or any Queen vintage stuff! it really sucks |
deleted user 20.10.2006 15:51 |
I got my Queen tee-shirts at Hot Topic. I would never have thought to go in that place, but... hey, they had them ! Also, a store that sells specifically tee-shirts, maybe ? - that's where I got my David Bowie shirt a couple years before Target had one. Vintage stuff... Hm... I don't really know what you mean. I got a non-vintage poster at the local poster store. I got a button that has a picture from the same photo-shoot as the Queen album stuff off of eBay (my mom called her friend, and I explained to her husband that I wanted to buy a Queen button - not Queens of the Stoneage or Victoria). I got a music book for "Another one Bites the Dust" at a flea market (there were also magazines with Queen on the cover). I don't know about where you live, but some good types of places are record stores, flea markets, eBay, and curiosity shops. You probably won't find anything at the mall (save the Hot Topic shirts). I see stuff at the vintage clothing store on University campus sometimes. |
