anybody listened to this? |

The Kiss song? Of course If you mean the Phantom Of The Opera number, it's MUSIC of the Night. |
L-R-TIGER1994 25.09.2006 19:34 |
Probably an unreleased demo by Freddie recorded during the Mr Bad Guy sessions, although I have no information about this track. It's unreleased (if it exists) and will probably never see the light of day |
Bohardy 26.09.2006 11:33 |
Doesn't John S Stuart own this, or has at least heard it? And it IS 'Creature's Of The Night' isn't it? It's in his signature, after all. |
Sebastian 26.09.2006 13:53 |
What I meant is that IF John was speaking about the Phantom Of The Opera number (composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart), the title isn't 'Creatures of the Night', but 'Music of the Night'. |
Bohardy 26.09.2006 16:05 |
I don't think he was Seb. Wherever his signature comes from, it's not from Music Of The Night, and isn't Creatures Of The Night a rumoured Freddie song from the Mr Bad Guy era or something? |

Bohardy wrote: Doesn't John S Stuart own this, or has at least heard it? And it IS 'Creature's Of The Night' isn't it? The original Andrew Lloyd Webber Phantom, was always going to be Freddie, but he never officially recorded the material due to both his illness and other projects. However, Freddie did 'cut' a vocal test - a bit like a filmic screen-test - but for music. This consisted of Freddie's vocal only, as he listened to the music (karaoke style) through headphones, while he sang the guide vocal. No other version exists. Just like Fickle's - orchestrated 'Play The Game' it would now be technically possible to marry the Freddie guide vocal to the original orchestrated score, but as the track belongs to Lloyd Webber, I do not see him allowing it to be made available to Queen Productions do this. Seb is correct though: the proper title is 'MUSIC of the Night'. This information came to me from an EMI engineer, but I am sure that both Andrew Lloyd Webber, and Michael Crawford are on record stating that this is not only the case, but that Crawford also used the Freddie guide as the basis of his own performance. |

That would be nice. I know Crawford was great on Phantom but I can never forgive him for what he did to the Broadway production of Dance of the Vampires. His leading character is ridiculous and is nothing compared to Steve Barton's original vampire, which was great (although it is sung in German). :S Wiley |

Hmm, methinks me smells a prank, Mr. Stuart. The original Phantom debuted on October 9th, 1986, meaning most of the writing and early demos would have taken place in late '85. I find it conceivable that Queen's success and new-found vigor following Live Aid would have taken Freddie's attention off of this type of project and onto the Magic album and tour, but his illness would certainly have played no role. |

Wiley: I can't give you one from the internet - but you could always try 'Google'. ern2150: My sig is actually from the classic novel 'Dracula', and has been reproduced in almost every 'Dracula' film - from the original 1931 Tod Browning, Bela Lugosi version - to the 1992 Francis Ford Coppola remake. kagezan1313: No prank I am afraid. Just a 'best guest' on my part as to why Freddie did not continue. If as you say he was indeed involved earlier or later, or he was healthier or not, or he was indeed too expensive for Lloyd Webber to employ, is at the end of the day immaterial. The point is - it was recorded, and for whatever reason - remains untouched. Sorry, but QPL have no control over this one, (and unfortunately, neither do I)! |

Hmm - I spent all of yesterday looking for some reference to this bit of trivia, but as yet have not found any. All I can say is Wow! Why the hell haven't I heard this before? |

Tatter and I did our own lyrics of Creatures of the night.. although it's called Create of the the night It hunts you down from underneath your bed It crushes your bones, before you two ever met It swallows you whole and spits you out in bits Then pulls you under your bed, to feed you to its kids Chorus: The creature of the night Will never leave you out of sight The creature of the night Will appear as soon as you turn off the light Don't look into its eyes Prepare to get killed His soul is cold as ice So don't let any blood spilled Don't lay down and cry It won't hurt to die The creature of the night Will kill you before you overcame your fright Chorus. Woke up feeling numb What has happened to my thumb It's all black and rotten All that happened yesterday I've forgotten... |
bigV 10.10.2006 10:18 |
Is that in any way related to "Africa By Night"? V. |
kagezan1313 10.10.2006 12:46 |
Yeah, those lyrics are pretty bad - nonsensical and they don't actually fit the timing of the song. |
Leaky Luke 30.10.2006 14:34 |
it had nothing to do with Freddie's outtake or the Kiss song. |

What sweet music they make" |
