He's just doing a paordy of a Queen song, we've seen this before, even in their damn day the comedy shows must have done a Queen paordy or two, is this insulting? Not really. Will this ever replace the real "We Are The Champions"? No. You shouldn't take such things to heart :) it will drive you mad! Cheers. |
The Fairy King 20.09.2006 08:19 |
I've seen worse. Just look at all the home made tributes to Freddie on YouTube...you know who you are. xD |

Seeing this...I have to wonder now, who has hurt Freddie's image more? That dude Hung (does he actually have the Down-Syndrome?) or the recent version by Crazy Frog? Or Robbie Williams? Or Britney Spears and Beyonce? Or Five? Or Wyclef Jean? Or what?? Or even someone putting on her website "Freddie Mercury is a radioactive squirrel"? Questions over questions. Oops, another 10,000 kids in Africa died while I've been writing all this. Now what is really important, darling? |

Yes, and every single band that performed at the Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert has also damaged Freddie's image. I mean, what a travesty! How dare they even ATTEMPT to emulate Freddie's genius!?? That should be against the law. Only Freddie Mercury is allowed to sing Queen songs, and since he's dead...hey, let's just ban the live performance of Queen songs altogether. And PAUL RODGERS!! OMFG!!!!112!1one! Simple. He will be put to death for insulting Freddie. I mean, hasn't he a brain? LongLostMercury...please. Being a bad musician does not forbid you from covering songs of musicians who are better than you. In fact, covering songs is a TRIBUTE, not a TRAVESTY. |
Rikke 20.09.2006 14:56 |
Ok, I dunno who this Hung-guy is? (Never watched Amer. Idol xD) I've heard about this guy though, who is said ti be one of the worst singers? That he really sucks, and that is why people like him? -I could be wrong - tell me if I am xD |

Tribute bands don't make a lot money, they are doing it for the love of Queens music. |

Just goes to show that even in a silly looking leotard, it takes something special to pull it off. Mind you, I think the kid made a shitload of scratch from this. Hmmm, perhaps leotards and music is the way to go. |
magicalfreddiemercury 20.09.2006 15:45 |
I don't know, I see it as a tribute to Freddie not an insult. "Imitation is the greatest form of flattery." Crazy as it is, Hung has fans. They're cheering him on, not mocking him or the songs he 'sings'. I wouldn't let it upset you. There's no harm done. |
Deacon Fan 20.09.2006 15:47 |
It amazes me that so-called fans of a band whose work included so much humor throughout the years continues to be such bitchy, humorless twits about harmless matters such as this. If it's not bad enough to be funny to you, then don't watch or listen to it. It changes nothing. |

William Hung is the poster boy for the mediocrity that has gripped the music world since our dearest Freddie departed it. This is a bittersweet and ironic farce, to see one extreme portray the other. The degradation knows no bounds, and I look with a sick fascination into the abyss. |

Do you think he really has fans? No, they are laughing at him, not with him. Do you think William Hung cares people are laughing at him? NO, BECAUSE HE'S LAUGHING AT THE PEOPLE BUYING HIS CRAP, AND HE'S MAKING MONEY OFF OF THEM! I find him hilarious! LOL! And I can't speak for our dear Fred, but I think he'd have a laugh too. He did have a wicked sense of humor. |
kagezan1313 20.09.2006 18:34 |
Well, I agree with you on most of those points, but Freddie wouln't have laughed at all, I don't think. I remember reading that he was absolutely disgusted when Bri and Rog helped The Young Ones spoof BoRhap as the band Bad News. He put a lot of emotion into his songs, so seeing others fuck them up royally isn't something he approved of, or could laugh at. |
Legy 20.09.2006 19:00 |
Well, unfortunately he's gone, so we shouldn't put words in his mouth. |
Joeker 20.09.2006 19:03 |
well what about another one rides the bus? is that insulting too? usually people parody other artists cause they admire them...not hate them |

I think that we can all agree that this is a stupid little stunt for the smarter americans to scam money of the dumber ones. It happens everywhere. Also I do agree (my apologies, I cannot qoute yet) with one member who said earlier that Freddie would have been highly distressed and annoyed with people defiling one of his greatest works. But as another member said (my apologies again), we cannot put words into his mouth. Ta-ta, B.R |
