Brian also said many times that he could never go back to being 25% of a band (or 50% or 33%, take your pick) when he could be 100% a solo artist. How dare he change his mind. Doesn't he know that people aren't allowed to change opinions once they have given an interview or appeared on a TV documentary?

i think the more valid conclusion - ie that ROTC and FM Greatest Hits both only just bruised the top 30 of the UK charts tells you one thing. queen are not a major draw with the music-buying public anymore. let's face the truth...they have a huge loyal fanbase, but they ain;t big anymore.

Liking Q+PR does not automatically make one a 'stepford' as you so deftly call them. You know, it is entirely possible for a person to like more than one kind of music. I don't really dig Q+PR all that much, and I don't really think it's 'Queen' - but I did like some of what they did, and I didn't automatically like it because it had Queen written on it; I let my ears make the decision for me. I think it's basic and stupid to just assume the only people that like Q+PR are mindless zombies, because it's not the case.

Same reasons musically for Roger, whose talent is absolute and, say, personally I love him because I find him funny, but that's very subjective. AND, some of you love John, because he's not only an AMAZINGLY talented bass player, but also the quiet force of the band. Others love them ALL and others don't like them at all. Those ones are stupid but that's another issue um. Anyways, all this to say that you should be able to listen to everyone's opinion without starting agruments that will lead NOWHERE. You make no decisions about the band. Brian and Roger (and John I hope um...) do. Freddie did. And it's been very rarely disappointing. Personally, I think Brian and Roger shouldn't have made the decision to record another album without Freddie, nor even tour... even if this, I can understand because it gave them the opportunity to please their fans and share something with them. For me Queen died with Freddie, because I'm utterly and passionately in love with every aspect of his person, even though I have the utmost respect for Bri, Roger and John. But I won't start a war for this, there's no point!! Paul Rogers, well, I've never wanted to listen to what he did with Rog and Bri, but I trust them, and I know they wouldn't have chosen him if he wasn't worthwile. Some people liked it, no? That's something. My cousin liked it, he loves Queen since way longer than me, and believe me, when I was about 5 or 6 years old, he already had Freddie posters everywhere in his bedroom. It was... what... 15 years ago. And I wouldn't have wanted to start arguing with him about the fact that, someone else took Freddie's place, somehow, because no one ever will, and sang his songs and stepped on stage with leather pants when for me only Freddie could do it with style? No? I said what I thought, he said what he thought, and that was it. Now I say it again, I don't like Q+PR, but some of you do. Good for you, you enjoyed yourself. So did I a few hours ago when I watched the WWRY gig in Montreal. Isn't this what matters? (And concerning Mr Bad guy's quality or Brian solo projects, same thing, not everyone shares the same opinion. For me, Mr Bad Guy is an excellent solo album and Freddie did it that way so it had NOTHING to do with Queen and its style. That's the point of a SOLO project actually... and yes, of course Barcelona is a master piece.)
